Anyone who can give me tips on what to do with my sweaty hands? I had it since I was in grade school. I got use to it though, just sometimes embarrassed when people try to shake hands with me. But now I really wanted to pursue being a make up artist but I'm worried that my hands will sweat while doing make up. Sometimes it's so dry, and sometimes it sweats like there's no tomorrow! I won't know when it will sweat, so troublesome if I try something that will require my hands to touch other people or things. :(

I don't think sweaty hands is a problem in applying makeup. I have sweaty hands too but I use tools in applying makeup like makeup brushes, sponges and other stuff to apply make up, not with hands, so it doesn't matter if my hands get sweaty. Do you only apply makeup with your hands?

Maybe you could have a standby towel nearby whenever you perform your makeup. That way when it starts getting sweaty, you can just wipe it away before it even drips down.

No, I also use brushes, but there are times that my hands are too sweaty they already drip. So it will be embarrassing to the person I'm putting make up on if my sweat drips on her/him. *blush* :|

Hi Mrsroxas Have you checked your condtion to a doctor? Well, some people link sweaty hands with cardiomyopathy (heart failure), especially if you have had it since childhood and you have bent pinkies. But some expert said that sweaty hands(hiperhidrosis) which isn't followed by sweaty body , cough, beating heart flutter and pain chest isn't a manifestation of heart failur nor lungs disease. The common etiology of sweaty hands are emotional effect (stres, nervous agitation) and drinking alchohol. So, this is the tips that I've read , who knows these would help? 1. Don't drink alchohol, and reduce drinking tea also coffee 2. Take 2 spoons of honey and mix it with a warmm cup of water, drink it twice a day 3. Manage emotional situation, it is also have an enough sleep 4. After washing hands, give them talcum powder for baby. Those also help you from dehydration . I hope you could be better soon

Thanks Juliyan23! I can't wait to try these tips out. Come to think of it, I do drink too much coffee just to keep me awake in the office. :)

You know, I have the same situation like you since I was a child until my college days but it has been reduced now. You're right that when it's dry, it's really dry. I experienced during college, while making conclusion for laboratory report, we have to write down on the whole page and my hands were so annoying that the sweat is dripping on the paper. I tried treating it the old way like washing your hands with your first urine early in the morning. I don't what's with it but I tried it. And I think using hand moisturizers will help because it will regulate the hands moisture level. Better yet, consult a doctor for good results.

Excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis. Here are 2 links that may be helpful to you. www.earthclinic.com/CURES/sweat.html#MAGNESIUM_17829 and www.ehow.com/way_5460019_apple-cider-vinegar-cure-hyperhidrosis.html In one site they suggested using an anti-perspirant but I don't think that's a good idea because many deodorants contain aluminum which is really bad for you. And they also contain other chemicals that I don't think you want on your hands. Hope these sites help.

Hi, Mrsroxas! It is really hard to achieve a certain goal in life if there are hindrances along the way. In your case, too much sweating on your palms are you problem. Hyperhidrosis can be treated with either ointments or oral anticholinergic medications. Do consult a doctor so that they assess on what should be done to your problem.

Well i would like to recommend you to consult a good doctor who can provide a better solution to your problem. Other than that you can use hand gloves to cover your hand while doing the make up. That wont affect any one. What say?

LOL I was thinking about the same thing about wearing gloves. I just hope the person I'm putting make up on won't mind or find it weird :P
