whew! i am having a tough time now. i thought i already finished my report in scientific writing about writing instruction and writing direction. i cannot differentiate these two. i just figured it out that i gave meaning to the oral giving of direction. but literally, instruction - from the word instruct and direction which came from direct. they are synonyms and i guess, direct being used to direct you what to do. for example in taking an examination, there is a direction given there. if you will just shade or choose the letter which gives the correct answer. and the instructions like wearing a life jacket or baking a cake.
for sure, someone will direct you where to go, when you do not know the place you visited and when you are making a science investigatory project, you have been instructed what to do.
but what about taking a medicine - what you follow? direction or instruction.
still confuse -
help me figure it out

thanks to you. i can use your idea in my reporting. i was so confuse with the meaning of this two: the former and the latter... thanks for dropping by. i guess, direction is telling you where to go like one is new to the place and you ask for the direction and route while this instruction, for example you are baking a cake, instruction is there on what to do to bake a cake...:)
