No I haven't decided I don't like it here. No one here has done anything to upset me. I just spent two hours on the phone last night with a publisher who is interested in my writing. They wanted to get to know me some. They want to see a 3000 - 5000 word submission of what I think is the best material in my first book manuscript along with a proper bio. I need to get it in by the end of September. I will know by mid October if they want to take me on as a new author. For me this is just huge. I will be focusing virtually all my spare time on this and making sure they get the best I've got.
For my friends here, I'll still be around. I'll comment once in awhile and maybe throw up a discussion or two. Just don't be disappointed if I appear to be completely AWOL at times. I just have to give this my best.
Incidentally if all goes well I might actually be in print in December or possibly in the new year.
I am so wired right now!

Hi Hatley, that reminds me, I wonder how long it takes now for a book to be published once a publisher takes it. In an older book I have, the estimated time was 1 year, but that is why my author friend sent me her updated book on getting published..It would be awesome if once I find an agent and then a publisher, that it's published sooner.
Koopharper, this news is too big to keep your mouth shut, I am so excited for you..I do hope you have time to reply to my box where I ask about your book, I want to know more..But I understand if you don't right away..:D

I know most of you will still be here. This is just so big for me, that I couldn't just keep my mouth shut. If they take me on, you'll hear another emotional outburst discussion the subject from me.

Congratulations in advance.I am sure they will accept you as an author. All my best wishes. You must have been too busy now,I can understand it.I have been writing an article for an article writing site and only I can understand how strenuous a task it is for me.It would be a short article, but I am sure you must be knowing how difficult it is to express yourself to your satisfaction.Don't worry. You can't be very active here.We all will be waiting for your return. All my best wishes.

Congrats Koopharper and I hope you see this before you go AWOL... Wow, so you have to write a 3000-5000 word submission on you book? Is this a fiction or non-fiction? What is it about?
I wrote a fiction story,I wonder if this is something I would have to do as well?
Anyways, when you have time, let us know what is going on...

I'll still pop by some over the next month. I just can't sit here for hours. The book I wrote is fiction. I like to think of it as a bit of action/adventure with a bit of romance thrown in. Still needs a lot of work I think but I'm absolutely tickled that a real publisher is showing interest in my writing.

Wow!!! I want a publisher like that..I have already shared a small excerpt of my story and I am getting all positive reviews for it. I think by sharing the best of my manuscript would be a whole lot easier than writing a synopsis, which I am dreading...So I hope to get a publisher like yours..Mine also has a little suspense, some inspiration, and romance, so I guess our genres are kind of the same..
I can't wait until the update, I am so excited for you....

Most publishers want the first two chapters and a synopsis but this publisher wants me to take pieces of what I consider to be the best parts of the manuscript. It is a little different but potentially shows the author better.

I know myLot is secondary to real life. That doesn't mean I will completely abandon it. Just will only be around when I have some time or need a short break.

Koopharper, you sound like me just last week when a published author offered to help me get my story published by sending me a couple of updated books on how to find an agent and write a proposal. I was also "bouncing off the walls" and barely got sleep that night..In fact, the books came today, so I might be AWOL for a while myself..:D

Actually it is a published friend who referred me to them. She went so far as to send them the review work I did on her novel when she was in the process of writing it. She recommended they read a couple of stories in my writing.com portfolio.

I'll keep everyone posted. For something like this I have a real hard time keeping my mouth shut. There was just so much work just getting to this point. Right now I'm so excited I'm having a tough time getting anything useful done.

I'm going to keep that under my hat for now. They regularly visit Book Junkies. I'm still at a very preliminary stage of all this. We'll see how far this goes once I've assembled and submitted what I have for them.

Hey congratulations!
Maybe you can hook me up! Haha!
It's great that you're joining the ranks of a few veterans here that have gone to writing fulltime, or semi-fulltime. Let us know when you get to print, so we could all read up too.

If I get a small part time income out of my writing. I'll be a happy guy. Publishers generally are looking for writers that can produce a steady supply of work. They are not really thrilled to find a one shot wonder. If they take me on as one of their authors, there is a future to look forward to once the first book is on the shelves.

Some of my writing is available through a blog I started. I don't spend much time there because of time constraints. The link is picosplace-pico.blogspot.ca. I will pay more attention probably about the same time I have more time to spend here.

We all have our own lives to live. Mylot is not our everything. It's just nice to be seeing friends around once in awhile when we are not preoccupied. Been doing the disappearing act here too, but my friends understand that. So i'm pretty sure we all understand if we don't see you here, but with love to hear you say hello once in awhile.
Congratulations and good luck to you!

There are a lot of writers and aspiring writers here on myLot. I have no doubt my friends here will understand. I just thought that they would appreciate the information. From the response here that was obviously a good assumption. I will stop by regularly as I have a few minutes here and there.
