Foul Play?

It was one tragic accident, the death of Jesse Robredo, the secretary of the Interior and Local Government, a position most coveted by ambitious politicians who want to become president of the land. And the nation grieved, surprisingly, for Jesse Robredo was not one to flaunt, and the next person did not know that he or she was actually an admirer of the brilliant but relatively low key secretary. When he was reported missing, the people started talking, and the stories came out more loudly in between sobs, when his body was found, at the depths of the sea. Well, his ashes had been buried soon after he was cremated, but what is this talk that came out, ugly, one that leaves a bad taste to the mouth. For one reason or another, depending upon the sequence of events when the tragedy struck, there are good grounds to believe that the fallen secretary had been actually killed. This is one instance when speculation must not find its way through the ongoing investigation. Robredo, as implied by many, was not only checking cases of corruption made by his colleagues, at the time of his death; he was also rumored to be the most likely-to-win candidate for the next presidential election. Foul Play? I surely hope not.

Well I would also suspect that angle as well because of the recent reports that USec and certain policemen tried to enter the Condo and the offices of the Secretary right after that tragic accident. That was really suspicious of him trying to gain access of Jesse's office and condo. Until know the Usec has not surfaced to answer this suspicious act. I just would not want to finally say this is a grand conspiracy thing since I would definitely lose respect for this person.

Same here, I just wished it was a simple accidental crash than a assassination plot as many are alleging. Usec Puno did not really perform well in Pnoy's cabinet. He was given the task of heading PNP specifically but what did he do? He mismanaged it at the very fiorst time he handled the hostage taking early on. He was accused of meeting with Jueteng Lords, and now is being investigated by Robredo on alleged overpricing of the procurement of bullets for the PNP. I think he has really to quit his post for doing all of this things. I just hope that Pnoy would also wake up that he needs to uproot one cabinet member that is just not following the matuwid na daan which the administration is trying to pursue.

Yes, you are right. Good news I heard, the good old Senator Miriam, full of ire against all Puno, I think, is up to summoning the questionable USEC to the senate. I hope there is a subpoena, and let the inquiry reveal the truth.

The plot thickens, but while I am for exciting twists and turns, I also hope this assassination theory is not true in Robredo's case. But I sure would like all Puno out of leadership in all fields of society, most importantly politics.

I don't think so, clearly he has previous plan of going back home through commercial flight. The change of plan was decided by DILG secretary himself, who would be wise enough to foresee it? In my opinion, it was really an accident.

Very good point. I hope people stop speculating, for it is not helping, and just let the investigation get through, and be over and done with the report, without suggesting that there could be more to the crash than meets the eye. I really hope it was just a cruel accident.

Were you there to comfirm if it was really the DILG secretary himself who backed out from the commercial flight? Remember, he was bringing his celfone, anybody could have called him to take the private plane instead... Apparently he also called several people before the crash, he must have been worried about something. Another thing, they should have the plane examined and investigated abroad, not here where redtape and whitewash is prevalent. One of these days the genuine reason for the crash will be established.

You said so yourself that he was calling few people before the crash. I remembered the news that he was also talking to his wife before the actual accident, do you think the secretary who smelled danger at the time, won't divulge anything suspicious? And if he said something to his wife, do you think his wife would keep it to herself? Now for the sake of argument that 'someone' really asked the secretary to change plan, do you think he didn't tell that to his wife? If there are people who should be more suspecting, it should be his family, not the bystanders who didn't know what really happened. Just my 2 cents.

More like an assasination to me. this is something that caught my attention, looks like he's trying to cover his tracks and that's why he went to robredo's office. if he's guilty of something, then the President should FIRE him effective immediately.

I think Senator Miriam, if I recall her right, is so peeved by all the Puno in politics, or even outside of politics. So am I.

What about the probability that his body guard is in cohort with some big time syndicates and was just waiting for the right timing to kill his boss? And when they boarded that plane, maybe that was just the right timing for him, what do you think? According to the investigations, the plane crashed because there was a problem with its propeller. They said the propeller stopped working. How easy it is to put something on the propeller, maybe an object, that will soon cause problems when the plane takes off. What do you think? Just a probability. Peace! :D

The late secretary ordered a probe on the procurement of high powered arms, the first probe of its kind. Here's the link: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/deceased-philippine-official-opened-probe-multimillion-ammo-project-071003529.html

Take note, the pilot is a veteran pilot and he owns the plane. And the plane company said, it's one of their best, both the plane and the pilot. So, the accident (if it was really an accident) really shocked us.

I was wondering why other people speculates foul play when the secretary's own family wasn't suspecting anything?

yes I also have heard opinions from my friends that Mr Robredo could have actually been killed. the bodyguard should have saved him but instead the bodyguard only saved himself. very sad that a man like him who could have change the situation of the government had a sad ending

Good men in politics, so an adage claims, die young. But their life stories live down to eternity, for all of us to cherish. Robredo's aide de camp is still undergoing psychological check, but he will give light sooner or later. I still hope it was just a cruel accident though.

It really is a foul play, and I would even say a mean game because if your man on the spot and you want to raise this is not the way. you just have to prove yourself. pity that there are dishonest people use these games to be able to prove then as leaders. weekend.

some people are speculating like this because of the scene they've watched from a popular tv series. Their minds are being too imaginative and advanced. ^.^
