Do you like museums?

Tonight I visited two different museums and both museums were free tonight because there is a cultural night on the neighbour island. The first one was a historical museum. The museum is divided in 8 rooms (one room from each decade from 1910 to 1980) and each room illustrates a typical living room from that time. There are furniture, books, magazines and many other things. It is not a typical museum because you are allowed to touch everything and you are allowed to sit in the furniture. I found all of the rooms interesting, but it was especially fun to see the things from the 70s and the 80s because I remember those things from my childhood. The second museum was an art museum with different kinds of exhibitions. One of the exhibitions was called Street art. Street artists from Denmark, Germany, France, Finland etc have decorated the walls and some of the paintings are quite impressive. Some of the artists have painted a fence and those pictures are very interesting. When you look at the fence from one angle it looks just like a normal fence and when you look at the fence from another angle you can see a face. Have you visited any interesting museums lately? Which types of museums do you prefer? Why?

Near my place, there is the Vietnam ethnology museum, i like to visit it a lot. i used to visit it many times but i still want to visit it more when i have a time. I haven't visited all areas in Vietnam but through the museum i can know about 54 ethnics living in Vietnam, their life style, their culture...

I think that ethnology musuems are interesting and a visit to one those museums is a nice way to learn more about other lifestyles and cultures. I took a short course in ethnololy many years ago and I found it very interesting. In Estonia I visited the a museum about ethnology. The museums didn't seem very popular and I was the only visitor there, but I found it interesting and I enjoyed learning about the different groups of people and their lifestyles. As far as I know we don't have the same kind of museums in my country.

The best museum I have ever been to was a science museum. When I was growing up we went every few years and now I take my kids. It has all kinds of hands on activities and really focuses on kids. They encourage you to touch most everything inside. It was very interesting and fun. One of the best things about it is that it is always free! There are of course some activities that may cost money like the 3D movies they show, but even those are not too expensive.

That sounds like a great museum. It is amazing the museum is free, I am surpriced to hear that. In Copenhagen there is a science museum like the one you describe, and the museum is very interesting, but it is very expensive. It is actually more expensive than most of the other museums, and I think that is a pity, because the museum is very interesting and it is a great way for the children learn new things. I have been there twice. Once with my parents and once with my school. There are lots of things that you can touch and activities that participate in, and some of the activities are interesting for adults as well.

St. Louis is where this museum is. I love going to the city in general because they have so many free things to do. The Science Museum is just one of them. The zoo there is free too. They have other museums such as the art museum...I believe it is free as well. Great city to go visit on a budget.

Porco, so far i had visited a few types of museums in my area here. I had been to the currency museum, historical museum, cultural museum and the art museum. I felt most fascinated with the historical museum, where i can view life of the olden days. I can get to know how they complete their daily life during the days without any technology being invented yet. Life at that time looks simple but yet seems very exciting as well. People at that time, seems spending most of their time doing outdoor activities, like planting veggies and flowers.

I also find historical museums interesting, and I think that they are a great way to learn more about the past. Some time ago I visited a historical museum called the museum of welfare and it described the living conditions of poor people in the past. A lot of changes have happened since that time and I found it interesting to learn more about the living conditions in the past. In many ways life was different at that time and everything seems more simple compared to the life that we have today. Today we have computer, internet, cellphones etc, all those things didn't exist in the past and people spent their time on other activities.

I love interactive museums because I am the type who can't help herself but to touch something that I find really engrossing and interesting. The latest one I visited is Ripley's museum in Thailand. It ranges from historical facts and figures to unknown facts that were just unearthed. I also love how they setup moving items to depict dayoramas and scenes to bring to life those memorable moments in history.

I think also think that interactive museums are great. They give me the chance to touch the different things and experiment on my own and that is fun. I like Ripley's museums a lot. I visited the one in Copenhagen many years ago and my brother and I really enjoyed exploring the museum and the many unusual things. I have visited any of the Ripley's museum in other countries. The one in Thailand is not close to the place where I am going to stay, so I don't think that it will be able to visit it this time, but I would be interested in visiting it another time.

I often have the same problem. There are a lot of interesting museum on the neighbour island that I would like to visit, and I was planning on visiting them last summer, but I postponed it because I was busy with work and I decided to visit them this year instead. Now the summer months of 2012 are over and I still didn't visit those museums because I was busy with work all summer, but maybe next year

I enjoy museums because they tell a lot about history and the world we live in.
