I have watched the shows on T.V. where people go to the store and get groceries for next to nothing. I have managed to do this one time. How do people manage to do this every time they go shopping. I would love to learn how to save more money. I already use coupons, but need a way to save even more since my hubby just got laid off. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

The tv shows are bogus! You know stores here don't double coupon, if they do you have to buy $25 aside from it plus limit you to 5 coupons... what good does that do?
If you want to save money you need to cut the luxuries in life like fancy cell phones, cable tv, refinance what you can, trade down to a cheaper car, buy clearance, only buy necessities on sale, shop rummage sales, shop thrift stores, and walk where you can to save on gas.

Several people in my area had cameras follow them around, so others could see them get 100's of dollars of groceries free. Now stores are limiting the number of internet printed you can use at one time and limiting the number of free coupons.
I do still get many free products and send my daughter and husband to get some of the freebies. My recent freebies included free vegetables, stayfree, candy, toothpaste and shampoo. I can't remember the last time I paid for toothpaste or shampoo, as they were free with coupons for at least the last 25 years. My favorite freebie was the 10 free rolls of bathroom tissue, but most people remember the 100 boxes of cereal that were free I posted about years ago.

I know a supermarket near to where I live has a cash till and another sort of till which had offer tickets coming out of it. I was waiting to be served. The man in front has around 42 pounds of shopping. He gave the shop assistant a ticket for 8 pounds off a shop of over 40 pounds. Then he asked to take off 20 pounds worth of Nectar points. He got another 8 pounds off ticket. I felt annoyed when I didn't get a ticket. Also when I paid over 30 pounds for fuel I didn't get a ticket. I do very much hope to get a ticket like that to get 8 pounds off my shopping. I know another supermarket that does compare the price to make sure they are at least 10 percent cheaper. I suggest you have an amount of money to go food shopping. It is a shame your husband just got laid off from his work. Good luck.

They don't the shows just make them look like they do. Now the companies are catching on tot he really good deals fast because of those shows giving away the secrets. I have been where you are. Last year at this time Hubby had been laid off and we where badly flooded. Our home was unlivable and we had to carry the mortgage and rent on a n apartment while trying to put life back together. I had to shop with every penny in mind and still do. Best to do is make a budget for your bills and how much you have for food and groceries. DO not be prideful and get help from your county's assistance. Write your list of what you need and then go through the fliers and find what is on sale with matching coupons. If you can stock up do so but within budget. If you have extra in the budget put it away in a savings account then if there is a week you must go over you will have some money to do so.
