Agree with it or not, EC had become a part of the lives of many writers like me. It was the first site that I would open when I start my laptop. However, as there are a lot of worrying things spreading around, many of us are getting worried about the future. Have your turned to other writing sites? Have you copied your articles from EC? Do you plan to continue writing there? Do you think you will get paid irrespective of the management change? Lots of questions and lots of worries.

Hi Abhi
EC is good site for me too so far. But I have noticed that in compare of past I am getting less views for my articles now.. Have you also experience the same?! .. But still they are good. About other sites, nope not more active on other sites.. But yes I would love to see more similar sites like EC. I know couple of them but earning is not that good as EC.

There is no doubt that EC has been a great site for many writers. The views were the best for me in July. They crossed the 20,000 mark. In August however, they hardly reached even the 12,000 mark. A dip of 10,000 views is too much. Yes, they are still good as compared to other sites. But as we got used to higher pageviews, lesser of them was something unusual. Yes, there are some sites like EC who pay per page views. But I am not aware of them.

I honestly can say that I am happy with Experts Column. That of course is not enough and so one must constantly keep up to date. I love the searching process and trying out new things. I am just in a kerfuffle over iWriter who bans me on the one hand and then asks me to write an article for a special request - and where I cannot get access the site.

I have read in one of the posts on EC the reason for less views is that our articles are not staying on the front page as long and articles are having less exposure as a result.
I only have a few articles on EC as I only recently signed up with them. My only concern with the owner selling EC is that he can see that the earning model is not sustaninable long term. I know longer members have been complaining about they are getting less money and the number of views need to increase so it is taking more views to get the same amount of money.
Only time will tell. Maybe he won't even get a buyer unless he wants way less money than he is asking for.

I don't think we need to worry about it. As most of us, like me, also written on our blog or Triond before experts column even exist. So most probably the article inside our experts column have already we written and published on our other writing site as it was also premitted by experts column.
So this article is own by us and we shouldn't worry about it. We can published it anywhere else as long as it was permitted by other writing sites. In case experts column are down and disappear, we still have our rights to our materials and can publish it to other sites in the future.

Most of the writers had done it the other way round - taking articles from Triond and getting it on EC. Now, there seems to be a time when most writers will be going to Triond from EC?? No doubt, Triond will benefit from it. But does it allow articles that are already published like EC does? I mean we could get articles from Triond to EC and can it happen vice-versa?

@abhi_bangal,
I think Triond permitted it. But the constraint is on Experts Column site. If you published the article on other sites, you need to link back it to the article in experts column and vice versa.
@riempie9,
I also think experts column give decent income compares to other. I think we need a lot of article, really a lot, written before we can really rely on the income.

Why? What happened? I just joined in on Expertscolumn and I haven't heard about such news until now. Can you please give me a link on what's going in there? I am still actively writing down articles in there. I just hope everything is fine.

My expressions were the same like your avatar when I heard the news. No one was informed about the saleout - especially the writers. There are many articles about the same on the site itself. Moreover, search the discussions about EC here on mylot. You will get to know more about it.

I'm not going to worry about it Abhi. When it happens I will deal with it. This is the kind of thing one must expect in the business.

Yeah right. It is business and one has to be prepared for things like these too. If not, these developments should turn out to be a learning curve for those out there. But one has an emotional attachment with the site and it is human to get worried.

If you look at the auction page on Flippa: https://flippa.com/2804995-expertscolumn-com-content-community-revenue-share-w-authors-growing-traffic you will see that the net profit appears to have jumped remarkably in April from around a steady $1000 a month to five or six times that amount. I would have to ask some very searching questions about that, were I to be buying the site.
The owner states that he wishes to sell the site because he wants to concentrate on other activities and he would doubtless be expecting the site to continue as before under the new ownership (if and when he finds a buyer).
I find the comments below interesting and instructive. It looks as though quite a large number of members of this site are expecting better things when it comes under new ownership!

Hey.I heard that expertcolumn is a well going site and is very popular among writers.I am planning to register with this site and try my luck with article writing in this online business.But I am kind of shocked to see your worries regarding the change of management in this site.Was there any news about its management changing?.Recently justbeenpaid has changed its management and it is now working correctly and many of its members are disappointed.So I am little worried about change of management in expertcolumn.

I have joined Expertscoloumn just recently and one of my articles is published in it.The article is on the site and I have not copied it.One of my friends in Mylot has written hundreds of articles for EC.He says that it pays on the basis of page views.He has suggested me to send the same article to Wikinut.com after it is published in EC.He says that I would have to draw a good traffic to my articles if I want to earn from article writing.
