We have heard a lot about the saying that laughter is good for the health. I also know a saying that says anything over is bad. So do you think this saying is applicable to humor and that laughing too much would be bad for us? Did you ever see someone die of laughing or whose health becomes bad due to too much laughter? Can you mention some instances when too much of humor have caused some troubles rather than good?

Too much laughter can give you head aches. But thats a temporary, within moments the pain would subside. But obviously laughing is directly proportional to the longevity of the life. The more you laugh, the more you live

What you have just said is so easy to believe, because when I imagine people who can't even smile I think of them as people who won't live long because their bad disposition usually leads to bad health or circumstances in life. But imagining a personality that is always happy and always laughing, it's easy to see a person living a happy long life. I want to be that way instead :D

You're right, prashu. We need more laughing people in this world because our world is already full of pains and sorrows. Laughing can also be a healing balm that could cause depression and different kinds of sickness to flee. Some sick people who spend a lot of time watching comedy movies have oftentimes been healed of their sickness. Laughter is really a good medicine.

I don't recall who the comedian involved was at the time, but I do remember at least one news item where someone passed away from laughing at the performance.. Laughter in general is said to be good for the body-weren't they trying out having Clowns and such in Hospitals to relieve stress? The Robin Williams Movie "Patch Adams" was based on the story of a Doctor pioneering this therapeutic technique,IIRC..

Yes, I remember that movies was based on a real life story. I guess there would always be exceptions to the rule, but in my opinion in the general case laughter would be good for the health of most people.

I don't think there will be a thing such as too much laughing..The only thing that laughing may not be a good thing is that if you were laughing for no reason at all or you're in public and doing it by yourself when you're not talking to someone or on the phone...People will start looking at you funny or even think you're crazy..lol Kidding aside, Laughter is the best medicine of all..not only it is good for the heart but it also keeps you abs in shape..I do have a question though..Have any of your laughed so hard that you started crying? :d

That is really a good reminder, crimsonose...I mean not to laugh in public places without any cause. This reminds me that there are many different types of laugh. There is a kind of laugh that is silly, and a laugh that is from someone who is going crazy, a laugh due to happiness and one from sadness and many other types to mention. Concerning your question if I have laughed with tears coming out of my eyes, and my answer is yes. It happens to me when I laugh so hard or when I find something really hilarious. Watching Jim Carrey movies is one of them.
