I guess learning to listen and support your friends when they are in times of need are the truest way to maintain a friendship. Also, hanging out with friends no matter what the situation is, like after having a disagreement, argument, even if you don't share the same interest anymore since all people are different, you still want to keep in touch, you still hang out together. That's what I call true friendship.

In my case, I maintain friendship by communicating them in any ways I can. Through texting, chatting or calling. Sparing a little time with them by just merely saying hi or hello asking how are you would really mean a lot to them.I'm a busy perso but i really insert my schedule to meet some of them on weekends.Even just a simple dinner or just window shopping. It really matters a lot.

My dearest friends are the ones from high school. I was not in touch with them for sometime after I got married. But thank God for Facebook, we were able to see each other and have been seeing every now and then. We are 12 in the group. Half of us are abroad and the other half stayed in our country.
We maintain the closeness of our friendship with sending emails, messages through Facebook and sms.

Trust, respect and constant communication could help friendship to last.
Understanding and acceptance of the people as a friend too could make friendship grow.
