In a recent news telecom regulator of India has decided to deactivate the ISD calling facility for pre-paid members and will be only available to them when they make request to their telephone distributor. This changes I think is all due to recent disruption of peace in India from mass fake SMSs by some people to terrorize citizens of the country. Well I think this move will help reduce pain in the mind of people of India from security point of view but that also means that they have to fill up another form for their ISD calling facility. Other members post-paid won't have any change in their feature and they can continue calling using their phone an ISD call.

I wasn't aware of this news. Thank you for bringing on this vital information into light.
Some steps are essential for security point of view and for that matter above decision is also very much justified. It is a bit disappointing too to accept the fact that terrorism here has evolved to such an extent that these steps are needed to be enforced upon. As a responsible citizen I would take every preventive measure my government feels necessary to be taken to get rid of this unsocial activity.

I would try to be at my toes whenever my nation needs any service it feels like me capable of delivering to them. As a matter of security, government also imposed restrictions on number of messages one can send on a daily basis. It was not liked by some but that was not on a serious note. I have noticed each of us getting serious when it comes to the security of the nation.

Its about all ISD setting that you are getting, sms's, mms's, voice calls, video chat every thing. Every thing can be used as a medium. Bad people don't care about how much money the spend on such stuff.

This should not be considered as an obstruction by people but as safety procedure so that they can limit mobility of terrorist and recent obstruction to peaceful coexistence of Indian citizen by some mad people who used these ISD facility to contact outside and disrupt Indian unity. I think we should no raise voice for this and should cooperate. As with normal people they just have to fill up another form if they want to call ISD, and I think not most but just some of them are using ISD. So that won't be much a problem for most, and if you do call ISD then you just have to fill up another form and submit request for this ISD calling facility.

i really don't like this. we have family ,relatives and friends abroad, whom we call through our prepaid mobiles phone. none of us in my family have post paid mobile service. guess now i need to get a post paid service.
Also most of the pay phone in our areas are closed down, since now everyone is carrying their own cell phones.
That's a bad news for us.

prepaid members still can make ISD calls but they have to place request with their telecom provider I think you have to fill up a form for ISD call too besides a normal form for prepaid connection. This is soon going to be implemented.
