i think he needs to develop more. he is strong and can head the ball well. his attacking positions are also good but still he has to learn more to be good striker.
So is giroud good for arsenal or arsenal should have bought a already accomplished striker to carry the team.

but isn't it the same thing giving a player growing time and eventually he will leave.

So far in the three games that Arsenal has played, he has looked like a passenger. But I have a lot of respect for Arsene Wenger's ability to spot talents. So I would like to give Giroud a bit more time before I comment on his talents or the lack of it.
Cheers!

One has to agree that Olivier Giroud is a good player that can excel given the right opportunities. Is he a good signing for Arsenal? Well, time will tell. However, if you pin me down to give you a straight forward answer, I'll say he seems to be a good signing.
The challenge Giroud faces is that he is still trying to understand the English premier league. He, I believe, has the coach, Arsene Wenger, on his side. Wenger is known to be a patient manager and one believes he will do his best to boost Giroud's confidence and composure to score many goals. We can learn from past players like Henry who took some time to really find his feet. He went on to be one of the greatest players to have played for Arsenal. One equally is impressed with the way Gervinho is doing well this season, yet he has a awful season last time. Good luck Giroud.

After three games and some of the fans, most of the media and all the critics are going for Giroud's throat. They have to get a life. Do they expect him to simply turn up and start banging in the goals? I can still remember what they were saying when Bergkamp when through ten games without scoring a goal. Likewise for Henry, who went eight games. What does their report card said when they retired/left the club? So, give that guy a chance. From what I have seen thus far, he could be another of Wenger's masterstroke. Once the first goal went in, it will start to flow.

Olivier Giroud is a very good striker, who is deadly in front of the goal. But every time a player switches the league, and especially if it is the first time, he needs time to adapt. I don't know if Giroud speaks English, but if not, he needs to overcome this difficulty also. But I think after a few more weeks the fans will see that he can be a very good striker and they will love him.

Give this guy some breathing space. He need to settle to thenew league and that was not easy. Not all the great players make great impact and scores during upon their signing. The always take a long time to settle.
Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp take almost 10 games score their first goal. Give this guy a time, and only time will tell if he is good or not.

I think he is clearly an excellent striker. He had a big expectation after Robin Van Persie left for Manchester United. He's looked shaky and has already missed a couple of "easy chances" that he put away for Montpellier last season. I believe he will form a decent partnership with Lukas Podolski for Arsenal this season and they will come good.

I think Giroud is a great striker and good and his goal instinct is also quite good. Proven to notch his goal last season in Montpellier, so managed to bring the club championship in France last year's competition. But unfortunately when Arsene Wenger brought him to the Emirates yet bisamembuktikan capacity as a great striker. Maybe he still needs beradaptaasi the Premier League competition.
