Does anyone here know about this anime? If my memory serves me right, I get to watch this anime series way back 2001. And I'm just so glad that I was able to find a copy of the series. This is my favorite anime. I love the story and the characters. It is a quest of a young girl, Miaka Yuuki transported to an old ancient setting by a mysterious book. As her journey unfolds, she found new friends, new challenges, new tasks and new love. If you are fond of watching a good anime series, better try this Fushigi Yuugi. It is a story of chasing dreams, saving friendships, and undying love.

Yeah I've seen it about the same time in 2001 or 2002 and own the entire manga series in Japanese. But I must say she is an idiot at times. I personally would have gone for Hotohori over Tamahome myself

Yes, she's really an idiot. Gets in trouble because of food and chooses Tamahome instead of Hotohori. But still I find Miaka funny.

This was one of my favorite and addicted anime before :D haha~ I remember those days when I can't study well because i just have to watch the next episode of it on TV XD
Before, i found the animations and characters really good looking and smooth drawings but lately when i re-watch it, the drawing looks kinda old and not that good XD. haha~ that's really the fun part when you watch old animes in this time of year :)

It's been ages since I've watched Fushigi Yuugi even though I actually own it on VHS (yes, you read right). To tell the truth, the series was okay but I'm not too fond of Miaka. I found her to be completely annoying and useless. This is probably due to the fact that I can't stand those weak and whiny female characters. I did like the concept of the series since I'm a fan of the fantasy genre.

I've watched that too and i love it! you are right it was way back 2001. back then, i do not like the protagonist miaka but last may 2012 i've watched it again and come to say that i love her, the way she fights and care for her love ones. it was so epic. now i can truly understand the love between miaka and tamahome.

recently I downloaded the complete episode of fushigi yuugi good thing i was able to download the episodes 1-26 in the classic tagalog version aired on GMA 12 years ago. And episodes 27-52 were english dubbed. I like english dubbed anime because i'm way too lazy to read subs.

Yea. This show is one of my all time favorite. I own the whole series but only watched 2 times.
