I met my now wife in a chat room some 12 yrs ago we are now married with a beautiful daughter who is 10yrs old. We have our problems and we have our heartbreaks, but we are together because of the internet, some say the internet is a curse and the cause of many a world problem. I agree in some cases but without it would we have met would we have made love and finally would we have our beautiful daughter. who can say can you.

I believe the internet is a way to meet alot of new people from all over the world. You just have to be careful who you're talking to now a days and if you do decide to meet that person go with a group of people never alone. Too many rape cases out there and older men pretending their not who they really are. I dated someone online for 6 yrs we met a few times then ended it because I knew it wouldnt've worked out. I'm glad i did because now I met the love of my life that lives in my hometown and it's so much easier that way because i know he's real. I don't do the online chatting anymore like I used too, it's a waste of time and to many predators on the internet. But so happy to hear about you and you're wife being married 12 yrs after meeting on here, congrats and hope you have many more.

Like you say not all relationships can work on line, because of distance untruths and many more things, but I am glad that you found love close too home and wishing you all the luck in the world.

My ex husband and I met online. Of course we had a friend in common, so though we started talking online, we did have a mutual friend. I think that you can meet some great people online but you have to be careful. A lot of people do get hurt, and sometimes very seriously. However there are some that find the love of their life, like you did, and are very happy even 12 years later. Congratulations to you.

Oh that is sweet and you are lucky to have found the love of your life via internet. It is true that when the internet fever started there were loyalty in the chats about 12 years ago because I have seen in that time the people online when genuine and not much lies. I know many people who are married during that time and are still together. But over the years people have started to take advantage of the chats and are abusing the use of chats. About 12 years ago when I saw the success of meeting life partners via internet, I used to dream of meeting my prince through internet as well.lol..
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

The internet is just like any other tool that we have on hand; it is neither good nor evil by itself. It all depends on who uses it and for what. Internet can be a tool to hurt people, to scam, to endanger lives and to even spread evil. But for those who are responsible internet users, it can be a tool to further our studies, to connect and meet people, to keep in touch with loved ones and even to save lives and bring people together.
I am happy for you and your family. This is a good example on how the internet managed to bring happiness to people.

There are a lot of relationships that started in the internet. Unfortunately some were not as successful as yours. I would like to congratulate for keeping the relationship despite the odds.
