I think of the line in the Sheryl Crow song, "A change will do you good." Do you like change? I guess it depends on the situation you are experiencing the change. One of the bigger changes in my life many years ago was extremely positive. But in general, I don't know if I like it. I'm bipolar, so I really want to stay on an even keel. Sometimes changes can upset that balance. But I believe overall, I do adapt well. What do you guys think?

I think change is good because change prevents one from becoming stale and boring..lol No really, change for the better is always good, and I am always looking for ways to change myself because I am not perfect and can use changes in various parts of my life..

Yes, he is paranoid of change, which pits us against one another a lot..Not that there are changes I would rather not go through, but when I look back, I can see why some changes were for the better..

My daughter, granddaughter and I think my grandson(too young to diagnose yet)are also bi-polar. Changes that make them manic are scarey. I don't like change. I have severe depression with panic attacks. If I get too stressed I have terrible panic attacks. Am on meds and they help alot. I know that change is helpful in so many ways but the less I have to endure the better.

Ya, manic can definitely be scarey and get out of control.

I hate alot of changes all at once. I'm all for gradual changes. I'm not afraid of change don't get me wrong. I just like to know about it ahead of time so I have time to adjust. I'm a cancer sign on the zodiac,we dig in nice and tight with life so changes can throw us for a little unstable loop.

It alwasy takes me just a bit of time to accept change...like my son getting a divorce. We used to camp together all the time..his wife, my granddaughter and I as he worked nights.....but that is over and the first weekend I had off...well it was tough not being at the campgrounds enjoying time with my granddaughter....I am better now and getting more things done! I hope someday you do get to be on an even keel all the time! And I am glad you can adjust to new things.

Most people don't like change, even if they are unhappy. I think the fear that change will make thing worse. They adapt with their life and are not willing to adjust to new habits, even if they know for sure it's a good thing.
As for me, i believe change is good. But is easy said then done. I've succeeded in couple of things, unfortunately, failed in dozen.

generally speaking I am one to resist change, especially if I am comfortable the way things are. I get used a a routine and kinda stick with it. It has to be really bad for me to want to change.

I have a hard time adapting to change at first. It takes me time to get used to things and make it part of my routine. I guess I just like things to stay the same and be comfortable.

I think u do just fine, Ambie. I'm sure it's hard but u seem to handle it very well & i'm glad. I'm not real crazy about change to be honest but u have to keep on trucking no matter what. Take care of yourself. hugs.

I used to be a lot better with change than I am now. For the most part I do pretty well with it but I think we all get in our routines. I used to live in a world of change and, to some extent, I guess I still do. I just go with the flow and make the best out of it. Not always tickled pink...but I try to stay positive.

hi dear AmbiePam, I am not really fond of changes. Like you said it depends on the situation you are in. Of course there are changes to the better like me relocating to my new hometown cause I got married in 2005 or a nasty situation in my life changing which resulted in me really starting my own life.
But sometimes you really feel like on a tightrope without a safety net. Right now I try to get to another branch of our organization as its only a 2 hour commute and not a 4 hour commute to work then. On one hand I would like to get there as then I have more time for my husband being on the train less, and on the other hand I am a bit fearful about what and who awaits me there. Chances are 50/50 that the colleagues there are nice people........

There are a lot of changes I do like - every time I've moved to a new place, it's for the better, so that's always a welcome change. When I get a new job, it was my choice so I like that too. I always loved to find out about the new grade in school, or a whole new school - didn't bother me, I thought it was an adventure.
Changes, whether they were on purpose or not, need time for adjustment. If they're not necessary and they bother you, don't do it. You should live your life the best way possible. Not like you get another chance!

hey ambie,
personally i believe to change yourself according to the situation you are experiencing, because that help you in adopting the environment.
I change myself alot, with jolly people i am jolly, with silent people i am silent, i guewss that way you dont have a negetive impression on others besides you start feeling more comfortable with others.

No I don't like chances. Usually they are just another way, not good or bad. I rather do things the way I do them, good or bad. Or should I say easy or hard. Most of the big changes in my life have been terrible. The first, moving from a good , free , easy going school to a prison like school. Second losing my dad at age 12. So I rather not have things change unless it is for better. The next big change was for the better. I finally found my worth And then I had a good man find me. These two changes were my choice. I mean I wanted them and worked hard for them. Things are so much better. But I wouldn't have changed if another had told me to do it! I look at it this way. I'm a mountain goat, a Capricorn. One false move, a change just to change and I will fall off the mountain. If there is to be a change , it Has to be my idea.

I've got a big changes in my life 4 years ago when I move out
from the big overcrowded city and move in here in my peaceful town.
I can adapt well but still sometimes longing from the way I used
to do when I'm in the city. It is hard but I have nothing to do
but to accept this the reality I have.

Some changes in life are good and some present very real challenge. In your case, I would suspect there is more challenge, since you have enough to manage from day to day. I guess you need to have a routine that still allows for flexibility since so many unexpected things come up in life that we have to deal with. Good luck to you, just try and keep things simple.

Hello AmbiePam
It has been a while, but in general I believe most people don’t really like change that much, they are comfortable with what they have and what they know – somehow they feel safer with it. But the issue is, you don’t know if changes are better for you or not before you try them.
Thus before making changes I usually set up pros and cons if possible, if the pros are larger than the cons, then why not try to change – even though it can be hard.

im a routinary type of person but when i hear the word change it is seem to be that i'm obliged to do some changes in my life in general, but as i think of what do i found nothing of me is to be change for the time being, i'm calm i'm relax i'm at peace with myself and with the things and people around me, on the contrary i don't want (this good that is happening to me right now) to change..
