for me i could say that i can still use pen but seldom in pencil even if we are in the printer and computer era,it because pen and pencil can still be used even if no electricity and you can write anywhere compare with computers and printers,it required electricity.

Just like when I say that I am very attached to a traditional book, I also have to say that I'm attached to a pen and paper as well. I know that I might not pick up a pen and grab a piece of paper to write as much now as I did when I was younger, but if these two things were completely absent from my life, then I would be lost in my life.
Even though I am using my computer right now, I also have plenty of paper, a pen and some pencils right here on my desk as well.

Computers are a more convenient way of writing, but I believe we will always have the pen and pencil because they are a more personal way of writing.

Of course we still need pen with us for our signature which is more important and to fill in some information in the form just like in the airport to sign for embarkation card, i even have my pen always with me for my signature, theres a lot of things that cant be replace by computer or printer and its the most important of all in every people either a student or at work and its writing down our signature, i dont think your company will accept a document without hand written signature as in our country, printed signature is not valid.

In my case there are times that I would rather use pen and paper because it is easy especially if that is just about listing down the things that you need. Though for scratch of course I am using that pen and paper.

Hi Tushavi,I love writing with pen on a piece of paper. In fact,I prefer to write with a pen than type it.Pens are one of the things that I love. For me writing with a pen is a pleasure that can only be felt, not expressed in words.I never use pencils to write.I know we are living in the cyber age and writing with pens and pencils is likely to become a part of history, but I love it.

I still use pencils and pens. I carry pens in my handbag and I have a paper planner where I write my meetings and appointments. I also carry a small (paper) notebook in my bag where I write addresses, phonenumbers, titles of books or other things that I have to remember. It is much easier to faster to write an address etc by hand and I prefer to write that kind of small things by hand. I don't write letters by hand anymore. I always choose to send an emails instead. I wouldn't write a short story by hand either. I prefer to use a computer in those situations.

I still use a pen a lot. I try not to use my printer too much to save the ink and the paper, so I write myself notes. I make a lot of lists with a pen, and write on my calendar a lot. I used a calendar on the computer for awhile, but I like the kind you write in better. If I am going to write a letter, I would probably use the computer though.

you are right that we are living in computer era but today also in many areas of world pen and pencil are important. computers/laptops/tabs are of great benefit and use but cant replace pen/pencil permanantly.

Nope computers are the way to go, did you use a pen and paper to start this discussion? Do you think you would even have to ask the question on a piece of paper? would you have to pay postage to millions of people just to get the question asked..nope your guilty of it to, you use computer just as much as the rest of us, but just to say this...The pen and paper can now be used romantically to write your wife or husband a I love you letter. Just saying.

Hi Tushavi,
now we are living in digital world. We use technology in almost all purposes. We seldom use pen and pencil to write something. We do our work by computer or laptop. But still we can not avoid pen and pencil. Suddenly if we have to take note of something we must pen or pencil. Because then computer or laptop remains out of our reach. Moreover to perform creative works we shall have to use pen.
