Children today are brought up in a life filled with computers. They play them at home, use them at school, some even have them in the classrooms to preform all school work on. When it comes to children and computers do you think it helps them or hurts them. My son has been playing on a computer since he was about 3. He knew recognized start, play, pause, stop, and save before he could read. In some ways I think this helped his reading ability. what do you think? Are computers a bad thing or good thing to start children on at a young age?

For me, it's a good and a bad thing at the same time. Good because, like you said, children can really learn from it. Bad because they're already exposed to it at a very early age. First and foremost, their eyes are affected. Come to think of it, how long are they going to use computers? It's like forever. And when they grow up, I'm pretty sure that will have to trouble with their eye sight. Now that they know how to use it, they won't stop.

Computers are both good and bad thing to start at a young age because it can maybe productive and destructive.Computers is a good idea because it will help children knowledgeable in computers when it is used as an interactive educational means of learning.Children can play educational games and this is a fun way of learning things.Like what I am doing with my son,I let him play educational games online basing it on his lessons. He is really having fun with these games but sometimes he really gets bored because it requires thinking. The advantage of letting kids use computers is that they will have knowledge in using the computer. My son usually teach my mother and people older than him how to use the computer. The disadvantages sometimes is that most kids like to play games like adventure games and they get so addicted to it.This is not really good and it is destruction to their studies. When I ask him to do his assignment,he will demand to use the computer and it is really annoying sometimes because he does not concentrate anymore in his lessons. So, I therefore conclude that it can be both good and bad.We should not let them get addicted in playing games in the computer. We should let them use the computer for playing games in weekends or we should just let them play educational games.

My nephew knows how to use computer when he was just 1 year old until now that he is 2 years old. He knows how to play Angry birds and press any button. But due to his addiction in computer games we are already preventing him to play so good thing we have our neighbor that has a kid who is also same age as him so at least he can play outdoors. In my own opinion there is nothing wrong that children can learn computers at young age but being addicted already is not a good thing because it might also lead to affect his personality like he does not want himself to involved into personal interaction that he will become snubbed and doesn't care with people around him. The thing we can do now is to let them use moderately but we still need to prevent them but not 100% as long as he could have his balance to play outdoors that can interact with other people.
