When religion was a taboo subject for us in our younger days, one of my friends used to crack jokes about God. God, according to him, would not have been burdened with umbilical cord. Passing unsavory remarks, he made the religious minded look like absolute fools. He was a real bully and the pious people always kept him at arm's length. He used to argue with the local believers and their arguments didn't hold water. He pooh-poohed their valid arguments calling them primitive people holding God in undue reverence. All this happened some forty odd years ago. I had no contact with him all these years. Recently I had a chance meeting with him. He has become the opposite of what he used to be. He is a preacher now singing hallelujah all the time. Now the question is - who to believe? The atheist of those days or the present one spiritually inclined? I am confused.

Just follow your own intellect and decide for yourself. Other people's opinions shouldn't have any particular importance to you.
