The Old Man and The Violin

I was on kik and I met this man - he is a doctor in Brazil, and he was Catholic, he was. He told me that he is an atheist now. I wasn't surprised by that since I know some people just couldn't get along with their faith nowdays- they believe for nothing but some of them still claim themself have religion and some of them frankly admit they are atheist. I didn't ask why he became an atheist - it wasn't my bussiness either. But he voluntarily told me - he was very dissapointed with his Priest. He used to be an active parishioner , he often sang for his Church. He was very upset when he knew that his Priest didn't allow his gay friend to enter to the Church anymore - and the Priest didn't allow the gay to be a Catholic. He (the doctor) was very dissapointed and decided to be an Atheist since that day. He hated what the Priest had done. Something crossed in my mind. A story about the old man and the violin. I forget where I read that before (maybe some of you know about the story?). Actually I forget what the exact story, but I've got the point on it.I'll try to re-tell the story with my words here. There's an old man living in a small village. He never ever heard a music at all. Someday his succesfull daughter brough her old man to a big city. The old man was walking around on that big city when he met a beggar playing a violin. The beggar's violin was so dull and seemed it bit broken inside - when the beggar started playing it , the sound was so terrible . It was the first time the old man met violin - he became so sick of it. He told his daughter not ever listen to violin or it would break her ear. His daughter was just smile seeing her dad. Then she decided to bring his dad to a music concert. The old man had been sitting down in the concert when a violinist came to the stage. The old man was skeptically seeing to her daughter - why she brought me here? The old man was fraught with his skepticism untill he heard the violinist played the violing. The old man was so stunned - he told his daughter how beautiful sound the violin has. His daughter said to him to wait until all music instruments were being played - it would be so much wonderful . The old man joyously listened to the concert till the end. He was surprised how wonderful the concert was when the daughter said something to him - "It wasn't violin's fault. It is the man - who plays it - that make it sounds wonderful or terrible. " Ps. I told him (the doctor) this story that crossed accidentally in my mind - and he told me that he got what the storry told about. But it was too late, he never ever believed in God anymore.
