Britain is so often the underdog in sport but with a massive turn round in the last 4 years Britain has come to through to win more medals than ever in the Olympics and Paralympics.
Now the man proud to be Scottish and used to coming second has won the Olympics and now the US Open after a five hour battle , wow what a show of British effort.

The Olympics was glorious! When I could, meaning when the U.S. was out of it, I rooted for Britain. It was wonderful to see so many golds! I hope you can keep this up. I would like to think of Britain as one of those countries that Have to compete or there shouldn't be a international competition. Her's to Britain! Cheers!

the paralympics has become more popular but i think the British teams just came out prepared and want to do well for there country. they would have done well even if it wasn't kept in there country. i say well done.

Maybe it's because the event was held in their country, they tried to show the maximum performance and mobilize all the forces that can give good results for their citizens, so that the status ungerdog not apply in the event this year.

There is no doubt that having the Olympics at home certainly helped but also more cash has been poured in to facilities and for personal help to the athletes. There is a sea of change in the attitude to the Paralympics as well with capacity crowds watching the events.
