I am really amazed with my son’s ability to complete the puzzle in no time. We both studied on how to get the correct combination of the cube several months ago, but I easily forget it and now I cannot complete the puzzle anymore no matter how hard I try.
The other day, while studying his lesson in political science subjects which as of now he is already in his second year college, he asked me if I could still complete the puzzle so I told him I already forgot about it. He showed me e again the process and I am really amazed on how fast he could do it.
Have you tried solving a Rubik’s cube puzzle?

Hi,
So, there's a method to this madness, solving the puzzle of Rubic. I have not gone that far in trying to align the colors by simple trial and error short of dismantling the whole thing and assembling them the way I want.
I should buy another one for old times sake.

Yes, there is. I was able to memorized it several months ago but because I was not doing it constantly the past months, I already forget it and now I am trying to remember it again. My son son would have to draw the steps again. Well, the only part I forgot was the last part. This is one of the things that if you did not practice often, you will eventually forget.

There are sites that teaches you how to solve the Rubik's cube, a step by step instruction, I hope this will help.

Before I tried to learn the right algorithm in solving the cube. I can even solve it in less than a minute. But now, the bottom part makes me hard to solve. I think I need to learn and practice again for me to solve it faster.

That is also my problem, asdomencil, he he. My son would again remind me of the "inverted fish". And I would say, I'm getting old already.
Well, part of our bonding moment.

Me and my wife are the one who learn the algorithm of the cube. Maybe we are going to teach our son to solve this too.

When I was a little kid, I can solve the Rubik's cube in no time. I don't even know the correct algorithm for it, for me it's just like any other puzzle toy that I have and must group together the same colors. Now that I'm older, I don't know why for the life of me I cannot go beyond forming 2 colors of the cube. That's it, that's as far as I can go in Rubik's cube now.

Probably because when you are a child you can focus on one thing. Now since we are older already, there are so many things that we have to do that is why we can not concentrate on one particular thing. Well, personally, I really can't solve it without memorizing the steps.
Thank you for sharing!

I used to do that rubik's puzzle but I never got it to the end except once. I did n't took any lesson though and never before this day I know that there are lesson's available for rubik's puzzle. It is by your post only I came to know. I used to do one face once only. like doing only a side or two sides most of the time.
Your child is really good in algorithm and puzzles and you can also do those puzzles (may be not at the same speed). All you need to do is putting all the logic in the frame and make out a real picture. This logic must be consistent one which can be applied to any situation (i.e. you should be able to make six sides with 100% at any situation which you confront)

Hi prakash! Actually, when I bought that cube several months ago, there is an instruction there and my son and I memorized it. Since I am not practicing it more often, I already forgotten some parts. But yes, there is really steps that we just have to follow in order to solve the puzzle.

I have aged and am weak in memory today(thanks to the medicines). Few years back, I was good at the solving of Rubick's but today... I can hardly get two sides done But hey, one side... I can still do it in under a minute or two max.

Hi thesids.
I would like to ask for an apology for not being able to reply on this response. I posted this discussion when I was really busy with my training so I was not able to follow it up.
Presently, I am not sure if I could still do it. It has been sometime since I was not able to solve the puzzle again because I have been so busy.
Thank you for sharing.

When I started doing it for the first time, it took me a long time, infact the whole day I took to get it resolved. But as you said, I forget it. However, I didn't tried it later and really I don't know how much time I may be required again.
Anyway, for the surprise, I have seen some people compledted it within seconds and those viedos are there in the Youtube site, it is really amazing, how those children doing it.

This is one of the things that if did not do it often, we would eventually forget how to do it. But there are several skills that if we learned it once, even we did not do it for a long time, we would be surprised that we can still do it. Although we just need to practice to perfect it. One example is the typewriting and riding a bicycle. This is true with me, I don't know with others.

I just memorized the steps so I was able to solve the puzzle before but now I don't know if I could still follow it because it has been months that I am not trying to solve the puzzle again.
Thank you for sharing. Sorry for the late reply on this one. Have a nice day!

Hi,
Yes, I am still doing it when I'm bored. You only have to memorize the algorithm to solve it. I like solving rubik's cube because it's fun, I try to bit the time everytime I play with it and it's quite exciting.
Have a grear day. :)
