You are doing fantastic, I am coming up on being done with two more books I only put a 12 book limit on my challenge this year. I take it you read more then watch movies. I am usually busy where I don't get to read all of the time, but now that the sports season is in, when I am not talking...lol I do get some reading in while waiting for the games to begin or when I am waiting for the away bus to get back to the school.

I have not kept track this year, or any year of what I read. I may have to make a goal for next year though. I am reading more now than I have in a long while. Some of my time at work is actually time that I can read.

Pegasus72 what will that bring your total to once you finish the 2 books? I say once you reach your total of your 12 books you keep going and see how many more you can get in before the end of the year. Yeah I read more than watch movies I use to watch movies and if they had a book read the book as well.

Tina it will bring me up to 9 for the year, although that doesn't count the hundreds of magazines I have read. Good for you Garden Gerty on reading more as well. I love to read but most of my books are like 1000 pages so sometimes it takes a while

It is good to have a goal and reading is such great entertainment as well. You set an example for many of us, including your kids. My children grew up seeing their dad and I read and they seldom go anywhere without reading materials. They are adults now and have their own families. Of course there is online reading as well. Keep going, it will be interesting to see how many you read this year. I may have to join you with a goal next year.

I love to read and now I got my daughter into doing a lot of it as well. I use to read when I was growing up but no where near as much as I do now. There are time when I don't have a book to read that I absolutely go stir crazy.I say the more the merrier I would love to get a group together and see how much the whole group can read in a year.

Thanks. It is so hard for me to put a book down when it is so good. The only problem is when I don't have a book to read I go crazy.

There is still enough time left in this year. I think there is a goo likelihood that you will meet the goal you have set out for yourself.
I think I am only around a dozen or so books for the year--too much other stuff going on to get in as much reading as I would like.

Yep I have plenty of time I think I can do it. Actually I should be saying I know I can do it. The time when I do my most reading is just before going to bed and sometimes while I am relaxing in the tub taking a relaxing bubble bath.

You're doing really great! You've almost surpassed what you read last year, and the year isn't nearly complete yet! I have no doubt you'll manage to beat that goal of yours!
I think I had a goal for 90 books. I've only read 47, and I've really slowed down in recent months. I think I'm going to try to knock all the books off my to-read shelf, and even if I don't read 90 books then that will have still been a huge accomplishment! I've had a back-up of books on my to-read shelf for about 2 years. I just buy them faster than I read them.

I can't remember the last time I had no books to read. I've always had a back-up, and lots of places to borrow and buy from nearby. I love going to the bookstore and shopping for books. It's one of my happy activities.

Thanks Yeah I am reading a lot faster now thanks to my wonderful kindle. I hope you reach your goal of 90 books as well. I know I use to be like you I would buy tons of books and could not read them fast enough. Now I read plenty fast enough sometime I am waiting for my books to come in so I can read more.

You know, I am a voracious reader, but I have never set a goal of how many books that I want to read in the course of a year. I think that the reason that I've never set a goal of how many books that I want to read is because of the fact that I never know how much time that I will be able to spend reading from day to day.
It is great that you are getting started with book number 35 now. I think that it is a really good possibility that you will be able to reach your goal of 50 books this year.

I know now with me starting on book number 35 that I will reach my goal of 50 books. There are times depending on what is going on that day that I can finish a book in one day. It also just depends on how good the book is on how long it will take me to finish it.

It is great that you already read 35 books this year. It is only September so you still have the chance to increase the number of books I read a lot, but I don't keep track of the books that I read, and I don't know how many books I have read this year. New year I will do the same thing as you. I am not sure what a realistic goal for me would be, maybe between 40 and 60 or 70 maybe. I borrow a lot of books at the library, and some periods I read more than one book as week, but it depends on my work and my other activities. Next year I want to find out how much I actually read.

that is great that you want to read 50 books before the end of the year. i think you can do it. i have 2 questions for you. 1. what kind of books are they? and 2. do you remember anything about all those books you have read? good luck on completing your goal.

The type of books I read are Christian/ Fiction/ Romance books and some Romance as well as long as the are not mushy. As far as remembering the books I read it just depends on how long it has been that I have read the book.
