I think that kind of apathy or depression is normal. Have you considered talking to someone about it? Maybe talking about it and coming up with some different strategies on how to get things going for yourself could help. Or maybe, temporarily your doctor might want to put you on anti-depressants. Those don't have to be a permanent thing.

Yes, please consider doing that. talking to your wife. It happens to a lot of people. I know a lot of people are resistent to taking medicine, but like I said, it doesn't have to be forever. And maybe talking to a counselor would give you a direction you could go in that would help you feel better overall. We all need help at some point. There is no shame in that.

the very moment that i talk about this to my wife, i found that she's very supportive, in fact she was the one who remind of my long forgotten project that i stopped doing thinking that she doesn't care about, but now i look forward to finish it, it's just a simple project but very beneficial,..

Stop feeling that way my friend. Each and everyone of us has a purpose and it's inevitable that we have to pass through the phases of life. What you are feeling is what they call middle age crisis. We can overcome that by staying positive in life. And of course as we age, we also change our priorities in life. Since we have already gone through all the enjoyments of our younger years, they are already not that interesting anymore to us.

Yes, but i consoled myself that i don't look that age yet. I try maintaining on the slim side figure. And when i see my former classmates in high school, i feel happy that i don't look old and fat as them. I still love dressing up until now and enjoy as if i am as young as my office mates.

dressing up is one of the things that i don't do anymore, i guess i should buy something for myself too, well when it comes too look many say that i look younger than my age, there is really a lot reasons to be happy, i think i just did not notice them, i admire how you take good care of yourself, i should be starting getting myself alive too.

I am middle-aged and I have found that my interest is different from the young, but as I am a teacher, I am trying to find some identical interests with my young students. This way it can make me find some more topics with them. Take care.

It is easy to follow the young so long as I am willing to listen to them and a lot of information can be obtained from them. If it so happens that I am also interested, then we will have some more communication about it. So one of the greatest benifits to be with the students is that you may find yourself young to some degree.

Hi friend, sad to hear about this, really middle age people have lot of responsibilities and this is the age for living. Middle age people are matured and have lot of responsibilities in their life. Starting from 30 years to 50 years is considered as middle age. In this middle age most of us got married and giving birth to our kids. We have lot of family responsibilities and struggling a lot to fulfill all the expectations of the family members. In our childhood and teen age, we don't have more responsibilities and spend our life happily with our friends. In our old age we lived our life and got a lot of experience with it and guide others with our experience. Living in the middle age is the great challenge in our life. We are in need to face a lot of responsibilities. In this middle age time, we are in need to take care of our kids as well as our parents who are in old age. We are the back bone to both kind of young age and old age people and spending our time in taking care of them. Middle age people facing a lot of challenges in their life and trying their maximum to earn money from various sort. As they are in need to take care of others, so they must earn more to maintain the family, as well as middle age is the correct age for working. Middle age people are matured and know what is good and what is bad and take decisions based on their experience as well as elders guidance. Middle age is the age for hard work, we must work hard in this time to save money for our retired period as well as maintain our family and fulfill the needs and necessities of other family members. They must balance both the teen age persons as well as old age parents and maintain a good relationship with both of them. We must plan a lot in our middle age for our retired life, as well as save some money for future needs. Really living in this middle age is great challenge and we face a lot of issues and responsibilities in this middle age. It is the age for living the real life.

Hi kongno, I felt sometimes same way with you especially when my plans didn't materialize or my expectation failed or I am afraid to do something, which is really required and I just make excuses not to do it. I'felt lost and wanted sometimes to be alone, but I'm thinking of my family of my love ones they are my inspiration why I live here on earth, why I do things and work hard because of them... Every Sunday I make sure we go to mass together to praise and thank God. My parents,, brothers and sister and in laws , niece nephew and my sons were having a bonding time after the mass. From Monday to Saturday we work earning money and still Sunday we have the responsibility to bring the kids near to God...Still it challenges me to wake them up in the morning , our purpose is to feed them physically and spiritually..just don't stop dreaming, still we have purpose in life you just don't know that you are the inspiration of your family , just like my father who are 73 yrs old,, when we are young he didn't accompany us in going to mass because he was so busy with his job. But now starting three years ago h e inspire me and my family and mom because he was going with us in attending the mass, he even wake up earlier than us..I was so happy ... Oldies give us joys , what more the middle ages? We still have many things to contribute, be positive and enjoy life... We are the joys of youngsters.... Lol....

We're actually on the same boat. Even if I am 29 years old, I already feel so old. I become so boring. I no longer appreciate the things I used to love. Before, when I was younger, listening to loud music was so cool, now it's so annoying. And when I see young lovers hold hands or displaying affection in public, I would say "disgusting" and then realized that I've been through the same situation before. LOL
