I have heard that left handed people when writing are not that readable unlike right handed people that is readable and left handed people are good in drawing unlike right handed people. What would you think? I'm a lefty and my writing skills with a pen is bad but when in drawing I could say that its good enough even though I didn't enroll in a formal school to learn how to draw. For me its true but not false, because I know some people that are left handed that are not good in drawing but has good writing and right handed people that are good on drawing and writing and so on. All people could learn how to draw and write neatly if they really want to.

My sister is left-handed and she has beautiful handwriting. I also write well and am right-handed. There have been many studies done on left vs. right-handedness. Some people only use their left hand for writing but for everything else they use their right side. For instance, using a camera they use their right eye, to open doors they use their right hand, etc. Others use their whole left side. And, according to a study by Dr. Alan Searleman of St. Lawrence University in New York, true left-handed people -- those who favor their whole left side for physical activities -- have twice the problem-solving skills and a higher IQ than right-handed people. There is much information on this subject throughout the internet. Interesting.

I agree with you. When hands are involved, it doesn't necessarily mean that the left hander is better than the right hander. It varies. People that uses their left hand are as good as the people who uses their right hand. Plus, it is always possible to use your two hands with mastery. I've seen a lot of them already.
Finally, we are all equal. If we want to do something with exemplary performance, then i say, determination is the key. If we want to be good at drawing but we still suck, then with practice comes perfection. Cheers~

I have heard a lot of stories about left ahbded people versus right handed ones. I suppose it is because I am lefthanded. I have heard that lefthanded people are more intelligent than righthanded ones. And they set as examples Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon and others. Yet we could also say the opposite an set as an example a lot of right handed geniouses. Any kind of generalisation is absurd, unless we are dealing with senrense such as "all men are mortals" Happy posting!

I ave read that left and right handed people have different skills and lefties are more creative. I think most tools are designed for right handed and are hard to use for left handed people, so I'm always amazed to see that many lefties have beautiful handwriting... even though it is much harder for them not to create a mess on the paper with their hands writing from the left to the right.

Hi arvintot! I am also left handed and I don’t think my handwriting is that bad. I can also draw and I can do several activities requiring hand skills. So we cannot really tell that if a person is left handed that he has a bad handwriting.

sorry, i humbly opposed with your started discussion. well, skill is a skill, acquired or not. some skilled were really inborn for them like good at drawing. and about writing strokes, well i believed that it is based on how you love practising writing to make it good. i am a right-handed person and i can compare my writing skills when i was in high school. i can say that it i have i have a good penmanship before rather than of today. i do not know why too lazy to write nowadays. i used pencil for writing any kind of write-ups because i can erase it quickly without messing the paper so much.
another one why i opposed, my brother is good at drawing and take note he is a right-handed person like me. my boyfriend is left-handed but cannot draw goodly and his penmanship is okay though not so good.
so depends on the person about the matter.
thanks

I am not quite sure how far a valid point that is. But there may be truth in what you have stated. It is linked to left and right hemisphere of our brain. So I cant completely deny what you said, but this is a new information for me.

I have to say it's part true and part false. I'm right handed and my writings are readable and my drawings are good if I keep practicing. Now the reason I say part true and part false is cause my dad is a left handed and I have the hardest time reading his writing. Well everyone haves a hard time reading his handwriting. But his drawings are awesome.
I agree that anyone can draw and write neatly if they really want to.
I bet left handed people would write neatly automatically if they were writing from right to left on paper instead of left to right like we normally do. Like we write and read backwards. Then it would be the right handed people who wouldn't be able to write neatly if we were suppose to write from right to left.

Hi arvintot,I am a left handed as well but I am not good at neither writing nor drawing, lol.
I think why people good at drawing the main reason is not he/she is a left handed,'cause the left handed people are not as much as right handed people so they can get more attention by others, but actually I think they are the same.
