When Someone Ask You - Facebook or Twitter?

What's yours? If someone asked you to choose only one of these two giants in the web - facebook or twitter?
If you will ask me the same too, I will choose facebook, because it's more intimate for me. I have real friends there, I mean I have met many of them in person, so it's more valuable to me! And it's more interactive.
As a blogger, I need twitter as well, but I might not choose it because for me, it is somehow "dead" or "inactive" in the sense that I rarely use it as medium of communication.
How about you? What are you reasons guys? Feel free to share!

Can I choose neither? I see Facebook as an invasion of privacy. Why would I want to be " contacted" by others I don't even know and share Everything? Sorry no. and twitter seems like the ultimate soap box and it isn't for me. If I like a star I want them to enjoy their privacy as much as they can. All I want is for them to do well in the movie/show I watch and to be happy off screen!

Oops. I forgot to say MyLot is far better than both. You get to say what you want like twitter but if you go too far , it is deleted and forgotten. Here you can reach out and make friends but... they only know what you want them to know. You are not forced to share photos and if you have a troll, you can go to admin and boom , it is resolved.

I would Never log in under my real name or Sarah! I don't think just moderating the comments will guard my privacy. I never joined to meet friends or find family or anything. I have a fake account so I can vote on So You Think You Can dance. If some troll falls on it , There is Nothing that says I'm female or that they can access Anything about me. I love it! I log in vote and I sneak out.

Hey Sarah my dear friend here in myLot, yeah, I give you the 3rd option to choice "neither" of the two. But I would just like to add that, facebook has given us privacy option, yeah, and you can check that out anytime my friend. One of those that I like are:
1. Moderate all friends posts to your walls, if you say no, they won't be seen on your timeline
2. Moderate all tags, your friends can tag you from their uploaded photos, but you can actually chose not too by setting this privacy.
3. Select friends who can only chat or seen on your available friends online
But some users will find it hard or laborious to tweak some default privacy settings my friend.
Anyway, you are right about myLot! myLot is the best of all - yeah, and what's making it the best of all, it pays us! Get online at facebook 24/7, would they give you cents?

I would have no doubt in my mind regarding this point. I would say its facebook all the way since it gives a number of options compared to twitter. Twitter is more like a notice board for each person where they put in something. But facebook have so many apps apps,games videos and stuff and you dont get a better time killer than facebook.

That's a hard one especially I am very active on both facebook and twitter. But maybe I will choose facebook. You are correct to point that it has more real valuable friends in facebooks and that I communicate with everyone usually with them. Whereas for twitter, it's just more on updating your actions and mood, showing them to everybody who follows you. Twitter is also good in expressing without minding what people think of you.

Yeah, but mind you, there are several big personalities who uses twitter for hated conversation! It's very popular here in the Philippines, and before I forget too, most actresses and actors use twitter to communicate to their fans, they rarely use facebook for that! It only means that, they are not doing that to build a close relation to you, after all it's business!

I prefer TWitter. I go online because I need a diversion, where I don't have to be reminded of my work, my family life, my relationship issues. FB is for connecting people. Twitter is more for gathering information. I appreciate the latter more because most of the people I mingle with in there are those whom I only know online. Thus I talk to them about anything except for my personal matters. I love the fact that I can express myself and these people would not see me at work and confront me. Lol.

You are right there and let me quote what you had said :"FB is for connecting people. Twitter is more for gathering information."
I agree with that, and perhaps that's a fact. Facebook connects people you know from around the world, it's more about close relationships, it's about reuniting! Thus, it's more personal in nature.
Twitter on the other hand, it's more about gathering information, there you can find writers, bloggers, and other geeks who can give you answers to some of your problem! For example, you can use the twitter search box by finding some important information, use the hashtags # plus the idea you want to know without spaces in them!

Actuallt, I prefer facebook.
Fisrt, I become acknowledged to face book earlier that twitter;
Second, most of my friends and colleagues choose this instead of twitter;
Third, i am more a watcher-by than share, it is more convenient to get to know about the status of my cared ones than let them to know about mine.hehe...
Facebook is almost my daily activity, i logged on and go through news shared by my friends. sounds perfect!

I would prefer facebook. i do not have a lot of friends on twitter and well, there is nothing much we can do in twitter though, there is this no chance to upload and comment on pictures like we do in facebook, there are only links to uploaded pictures... the thing is that people are more often in facebook too and not on twitter... twitter does look a bit boring too, textual and not graphical so its not so much of a user friendly type, it is kind of like popular for people who only want to vent out and release anything they have in their minds... and have people just follow or comment a bit but it can go on really fast that you are unable to see your friends post as other people you are following will flood the pages. ha ha ;)

Hi mate you right, at least I hear your opinions right now and it is something to validate my assumption... my assumption is that most users, who are not online marketers, bloggers, and the likes have the same idea and the same purposes for choosing facebook over twitter, or choosing just facebook without including "I can't only choose one but two".
Why? Because facebook us user-friendly! You have your friends there and you can do all what you want from chatting, uploading and tagging pictures, visiting your friends walls, commenting long comments without character limit and much more that you cannot do at twitter.
But for online people, who are promoting their businesses online, the two giants are so important for them! Sometimes they are more often at twitter!

Well, for me, the only social networking site i have ever joined is facebook. Twitter really did not catch my wave, i just don't like social networking back then until facebook was invented. It is more user-friendly, it is very popular and the most used social networking site in the world. I think it's all i need for now. I guess that's just my reason, although, twitter may have good benefits as well, i'm just unfamiliar with it . Good day to you~

Yeah - facebook is the most popular, and friendster even gave up! And I agree with you mate, fb is more user-friendly, you can find intimacy with you friends there, I mean when you are logged in at fb, you feel at home. That's why when I slip into a net cafe occasionally, it's not shocking to me anymore to see all users there enjoy fb all the time! So they are there because of it, uploading photos and viewing photos of their friends as well! And, chatting... those features are the most popular these days, and I may not forget - tagging your friends as well! I wonder how fb does that! It's too powerful!

I think facebook overall is much more popular than twitter. I live in Poland and I can say that over here nobody or hardly anybody has twitter but everyone has a facebook account. I like facebook a lot more too although its hard to compare because I'm not an active twitter user, but from what I've heard facebook is better and all my friends have facebook and not twitter. Plus facebook doesn't have the limit of letters that twitter has per tweet.

You have mentioned all the good features facebook has for internet users to choose it over twitter. But mate, I would like to add it here too that the two web giants are not competitor, yeah because, like songs, there are of different genre... or kinds shall I say, however, sometimes users are not particular about it because they are both social networks in form. Most likely, people here in the Philippines almost have their facebook account updated or visited everyday, and few of them got twitter page for reasons you've mentioned there!

Yeah you are right there mate! Unlike twitter, most of the users are business owners, blog owners, but I guess if you have some business online like that, you can benefit twitter as well! There are lot of people that are paying some program to generate followers, and facebook as well - fan pages are so popular nowadays, almost all websites, online business, universities and all sorts are creating their fan pages now at fb for likes and fans opinions!
