American Ambassador Killed by Libyan Mob

1) U.S. diplomats in Cairo apologize for free speech that “hurts the religious feelings” of Muslims. 2) Protests turn into attacks on Cairo and then Benghazi embassy. 3) Romney calls the apology disgraceful. 4) Murders of Americans in Benghazi hit the news. 5) Obama administration disavows Cairo embassy apology. 6) Obama campaign shames Romney for politicizing murders (even though Romney was not addressing the murders). 7) Eight hours later, Obama finally condemns the attacks. 8) CNN Reports that the attacks were planned and had nothing to do with hurting religious feelings of Muslims. The movie in question (low budget) attempts to chronicle the ongoing murder of Coptic Christians in Egypt. I don't recall an apology by the State Department, castigating the Islamists for 'hurting the feelings' of the Copts as the Muslim Brotherhood CRUCIFIED them on the palace lawn. The embassy was guarded by Libyan nationals, whom Amb. Stevens trusted with his life, Amb. Stevens loved the Libyan people and had been assigned to the Embassy since diplomatic relations resumed with Qadaffi. The guards led the mob to him when the embassy was overrun, by telling them where he was. The mob promptly began torturing him, finally smothering him to death. Witnesses on FB report that the it took the White House until after 10a today to lower the flag to half staff. And I hold our president and his secretary of state responsible. Obama had not attended any security briefings for the week leading up to 9/11. You'd think BOTH of them would be concerned of unrest in the Muslim world on this most momentuous of days.

I don't think it's fair to blame the President and Secretary of State for the attacks. That's the height of super partisanship. A far stronger case can be made that George Bush and Condoleeza Rice were asleep at the switch on 9/11 - she was NSC despite no intelligence background; there were several warnings conveyed by George Tenet of the CIA that Al Queda was planning something major on U.S. soil. That's all academic; but any anti-Bush partisan could argue it. I voted for Bush but always suspected he and Rice shared a degree of culpability. The anti-Islam video propagated by Coptic Christians was probably a convenient excuse for the uprisings by Muslim extremists on 9/11. Romney displayed poor judgment in ostensibly politicizing the tragic event. Either he is a foreign policy naif who doesn't know better and/or has terrible advisers. He's going to have to do a lot better to unseat Obama. :(

Yet, you have no problem blaming Obama for something that you have no idea if he knew about or not. We all know that we had intelligence leading up to 9/11 that terrorist were going to attack us, and we knew that they could use planes. We also knew that there were people of middle eastern decent that were learning how to fly plane, but not land them. Yet you are "DISGUSTED THAT YOU WOULD TRY TO MAKE THIS ABOUT BUSH.". You are the one made accusations with NO FACTS to back them up!!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/12/world/africa/libya-attack-jihadists/index.html and our president doesn't know if Egypt is friend or foe? Shouldn't he have figured that out before giving them $1.5 BILLION and promising tanks?

It shouldn't surprise anyone on here that Deb would blame Obama for this. Did Obama force Mr. Stevens to stay at the embassy? Did he order people to kill him? Did he kill him personally? Your accusation is completely ignorant (I would use other words, but that would get me banned). To say that Obama caused this because he hasn't at security briefings is to say that George W. Bush caused 9/11 because he had all of the information about the attacks in front of him, and didn't stop them. What happened to Mr. Stevens was horrible, and the people to planned this, and carried it out will be found, and brought to justice. But, what FACTS to you have that there was a planned attack on the US embassy's? Mitt Romney made an ignorant statement, and has shown his arrogance by not apologizing for speaking before he had all of the facts. His actions show the American people why he isn't ready to be president, and why he will NEVER be ready!!!!

http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/12/world/africa/libya-attack-jihadists/index.html and explain to me please...Obama released statement in which he would not name Egypt as friend or foe? Shouldn't HE HAVE figured THAT out before he sent them $1.5 BILLION and promised them tanks? How about all the assurances that 'democracy' had come to the Arab world? Hillary's assurances that the Muslim Brotherhood was no longer a terror group. YES, they BOTH have assured us the war on terror is over.... and al Qaeda laughed while killing our Ambassador.

Thanks for the correct chronology. Of course the main stream media is not reporting any of it. They barely even wondered about security not being increased leading up to the anniversary of 9/11. These types of retaliations against people who had nothing to do with the real or imagined insult to a religion shows just how brain washed many of the people are in some of these countries.

http://debka.com/article/22353/Al-Zawahri-personally-ordered-Al-Qaeda-to-murder-US-Ambassador-Stevens It was not the movie, it was a coordinated attack, and right now the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are calling for more protests at our embassies in Morroco, Tunasia and continued protest at the Embassy in Egypt. Al Qaeda released a video of an American foreign aid prisoner whom the kidnapped in Pakistan, he was forced to demand the release from Israel al Qadeda prisoners or he would be killed. And like I said...Obama is in Vegas!

The press is saying an angry mob did it ...when did angry mobs start carrying rpgs? It sounds like a military grade attack from terrorists to me. Will this nonsense never end?

debrakcarey I think Obama continues to show his lack of understanding of foreign affairs. While he might mean well, his lack of knowledge is harmful to Americans and I do worry if he can handle the escalating crisis and will he listen to men with more experience.

There are many who feel he has ulterior motives, that he means to destroy America. I am not one to discount their opinions.

It is more than caring for others over America, it is a willful attempt to destroy America. Yesterday's and today's events prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I cannot imagine why the west would apologize to barbaric hoards, and the proof of how ridiculous that mindset is, is their torturing and killing the U.S. Ambassador. I don't care how much you might disagree with a country or its policies or even its people or culture.. or how different one's culture is from another, there is absolutely no excuse for torturing, killing, sawing the heads off of other human beings!! And kowtowing to them is foolish policy indeed. As is sending u.s. tax dollars to the middle east, through charity, or, through buying their oil when we could provide our own oil from u.s. oil deposits!!

How convenient another attack on the U.S. on the same day 11 years earlier? I believe Obama and his administration on the true terrorists. Obama cares nothing for/about the American people. That's a proven fact when the government can arrest someone without a trial and hold them indefinitely.

http://debka.com/article/22353/Al-Zawahri-personally-ordered-Al-Qaeda-to-murder-US-Ambassador-Stevens The facts show that this was another attack on 9/11 from al Qaeda. Obama may have killed Osama, but al Qaeda is alive and well. Killing Americans on American soil and fearless leader is in Vegas campaigning!!!
