Life is all about learning from mistakes. What has been the biggest mistake you have learned from? Right now, I can't think of anything except the choices of people that I've hung out with that weren't so good of people. Even though I had gut feelings I shouldn't associate with them I did. So, I guess I've learned to follow my gut instincts.

Hi jodee. The biggest lesson I have learned from previous
mistakes is for me not to worry too much about other's
problems. this is because people abuse me for being
Generous in lending a helping hand. I realized that it
is not always good to be like that. It is my nature though
So it is hard to avoid. I am trying my best though to be
more open in assessing situations before I offer help.

Yes we learn from our mistakes as well as from experiences in which we didn't make any mistakes. For me, I had several mistakes wherein I learned from it. Most of them were during my teens and early part of my adult life. Even at this stage of my life, I still commit mistakes.

I agree that life is about learning from the mistakes we did. The biggest mistake that I have learnt is.. not to trust anybody too much. Well, actually, I got stabbed by people I trusted the most for so many times.
Some people who I thought were my best friend are actually not good enough because they just cannot accept me the way I am. I am not saying that life without a friend is fine. But, a real friend is so hard to find.
I got some very good friends and that's enough for me. I just want to keep them.
And yeah, I should learn to trust my gut, too. Because I used to have gut that "someone" who happened to be my best friend once, is not a good person, but then when we got closer by time, I thought I was wrong, but until the very end, she proved that I was actually right at the very first time...

Getting the wrong course in my studies to have a career that I didn't choose. It was others choice which made me take up this course. But I learned my mistake, I worked hard to reach my current standing right now. I failed so many times but I manage to get up and take another chance just to build something for myself. It really pays to choose what we really love, our passion, especially in choosing a career and likewise in managing our dailiy lives. Thanks

i made lots of mistakes in my past but thanks God, i figured it out and somehow straightened most of it through God's intercession. they were bad memories but helped me a lot to grow as for moulding me a much better person (well, at least not as bad as like i were before). so i can say that, i made mistakes but i learned and grow. no more regrets and must think positively and do what i can do for the welfare of my tomorrow so that i can share it with my mom and siblings. that would be my greatest dream in life.
thanks for the opportunity to respond in your discussion

Yeah my mistake from which i learned was that i should not commit in any relation before making sure the person is worth of that relation. I am talking about my relation with my first gf. She was just not perfect for me and i committed many things, which eventually led to my sadness. I have learnt from my mistake, i can say that.

The truth is, we would always learn from anything we get to experience. Most especially if there have been committed mistakes, trial and error. Life isn't really perfect that one can live life easily and not be tripped over things, decisions, options and choices. The thing is in life, we can never do many things at the same time... we can never try both things and choose the best one... same as choosing a partner, or a career as we have to sacrifice one over the other and pray and hope that we are choosing the best one. In choices, we could make a mistake in our choosing as well if we have not thought hard about the decision we are making.
Important really is if we have fallen, tripped, set back due to some things in our life that are quite uncontrollable, we should be able to get back up and redo things differently, this time better than the last time and win.

Mistakes are the best lessons in life, and for me, it is too numerous to count, lol! The only thing I know is I really learned a lot from them and see life in a different perspective, adapting myself, knowing more about what I am made of and what i am capable to do. So, mistakes are the most influential events in my life.

i think one mistake that i learned a lot is not trusting people too much specifically one who seems to seek for sympathy always. This had already placed me in a tight situation a couple of times. Now though sometimes i feel guilty but i don't easily believe sob stories anymore and avoid people of this type.

Indeed, we should all learn from our mistakes. We should see to it that the next time around , such a mistake will not happen again.
When it comes to friend, i follow my mind. I discern if i will enjoy or they will have a positive impact in me and i can trust them.

Indeed mistakes is part of our journey in life.
This is where we learned to be a better person.
I guess we better appreciate our mistakes and look for the brighter side of it for us to learn more and be a better person in the end.

Well I can say that, the biggest mistake was to move from Ontario to the Maritimes we thought that coming here the kids would have more opportunity and could find easily some part time work near by and as it turned out somebody from the church we attend sold us to the government because we were trying to build our home and was not yet done and told us it is not right so ended upbeing forced in government housing.
We learned that people around here don't like outsiders and don't give you an easy time to find a good paying job but there is none anyway, so we are looking at moving out and we are having a hard time to make hand meet sooo .

Yes of course, we should learn from our mistakes because if not we are bound to repeat them. And so we give advises to our children, relatives or friends regarding our mistakes with the intention that they will not suffer the same. Will they listen or not? Most likely the answer is No. That to me, is the irony of life.

I agree with you in the sense that we should learn from our mistakes but little bit dis agree that life is "all about" not at all mistakes in our life. Because mistakes come from our action, discision and character. If we can observe our life we can see that we have good action, discision and character which other seen and benefitted for us.
