Recently, Japan nationalized the controversial islands-Diaoyu islands, which is also named Senkaku islands in Japan. As a chinese people I strongly condemn the action conducted by Japanese government. I think they have made a complete wrong decision, which will throughly make detrimental impact on relations between the two countries. I have sensed the intense anti-Japan emotion spread in China from superior to ordinary people. We love peace but we also don't be afraid of war. If break out the war, Japan will fail without doubt.

Both nations in this dispute should have their disagreement forward to the UN Tribunal or arbitrary commission to resolve their differences base on the Law of the Sea agreed and signed upon by UN member naions, instead of decide by the holliganism and gangsterism display by their citizens on the street. If these barren rock islands fall within the 12 N.M of China's main low tide shore line, then it is part of the territory sea of China, if they are indeed fall within the 12 N.M of Japan closer shoreline, then it is part of Japan's territorial water zone. If not, these islands are no nation territory if they turn out to be only part of the contiguous zone or exclusive economic zone of either country. The solution can only be found after UN fact finding commmittee do an actual surveying of the distance and take their measurement of those barren rock, for the time being, it is just childish display on the part of both countries to continue escalate their disputes, shamelessly raise the tension in South China Sea by resorting to threat of war on each other by dispatching more naval forces to the disputed area. Stop acting like two small children fighting over a toy, let the UN resolution tribunal do their job, it is time for the leaders of both countries to tune down their war rhetoric and begin to allow civility flourish and diplomacy work.

Since when the HELL China had such acted so BULLY on it's neighbors?! do you really think you are powerful and superior for just sending your force out here and yelling at us that you owned those islands?! hope you're not one of those who are totally brainwashed because it will surely hit you back one day.
I know, Anti US, anti philippines, anti every thing that also wants the claim of the islands.
WHY CAN'T THE FREAKING CHINESE GOVT. BEING THE MOST powerful country in ASIA should ACT LIKE ONE and be more diplomatic. of course not, it's a COMMIE govt.! that's why. you know, the chinese govt should be the one calming us down and not breaking us APART!
i think what Japan, Germany suffered during world war ii, will be the same fate of that rigid, selfish, bully chinese government of yours!
You want us to look up to you? DON'T ACT LIKE A BULLY or we your neighbors, would definitely have to rely on the west...

Right. Well China is nothing if nobody buy their Chinese made product. As we know Chinese Products are hazardous. These products have a very bad reputation of being so substandard and the fact that the Chinese put hazardous additive into these products in order to pass certain quality testing. Remember the melamine? MADE IN CHINA=HEALTH HAZARD, CHINA=BIG FAT BULLY..Well not all Chinese people are bad. It's their government.

Firstly,I would like to thanks mylot,as a international website, everyone no matter where are they from and what are their faith,we all can share our opinions in here, and we can listening to different voices at here,no matter it is approval or opposite, and we all respect everyone and hold a open discussion. But the foundation I think it should be base on respect each other and base on the history and the reality. We can never judge people or other things without evidence.
Then I want to share my opinion,Diaoyu island is belong to China but now it is under Japan's control,if you have any questions you can look up the world history and any International Convention.Regarding to why it is control by Japan that it is a complicate issue,I think you can ask some one who really know about this history, such as your friends from your ally country. And as for your other comments about China, pls show your evidences 'Cause you can not judge others and use some bad words like rigid, selfish, bully without any evidences, this only indicate your arbitrary.
And the last but not least, even though mylot is a free and international website, you should also respect others in here always, this can reflect people's personal qualities.

Are you seriously suggesting that you would go to war over a barren rock island? Why?? It's a barren rocky island, that China has not had control over in the past 50 years at least.
I know it's easy for me to say this but.... let it go man. Just let this go. A rock isn't worth shedding blood over, especially since you have such a great economy going right now... why ruin it over a bit of rock?
There are things worth dying over, I agree. But this isn't one of them. Let it go. Live, prosper, grow, have a family. Don't kill yourself over a barren rock island.

they are being told by their government that they owe those islands, and doesn't want to have a joint ownership. it's lame really, their already putting half of their leg in the grave making a scare of us. besides, with the climate change and the rise of water, what's the point of keeping those islands anyways.

Thank you, andy77e, it looks like like that you are unfamiliar with the significance of the islands. In fact, although it's a barren rocky iland, it means a lot when we really reign. on the one hand, if we own it, the vicinal sea area and the airspace over it is ours as well and the rich resource under the sea is beyond your imagination. One the other hand, it possess immense strategic importance. I think in this point, you American know well, so I won't explain more in the aspect. At last, I want to say that we won't retreat on territory issues.

So you are going to die for a rock.
The largest of the islands is only 4 km2. That's not big enough for any substantial military use, which is why they were never used as a military base during WW1 or WW2.
They serve no strategic purpose.
Further, the Japanese have been there since 1910. That's before the People's Republic of China, ever existed.
Lastly... I'm not dying over some fish or oil under a rock island. Are you really telling me that money is more important than your life?
This isn't about the Chinese people being arrogant and boastful is it? Because you don't need to kill yourselves to take a rock island, to show us you are a strong people.
Just go be productive. Build stuff. Make wealth. Sell products. Grow your family. That says far more about you that is good, than killing yourself for a dumb rock island.

China is one that is aggressive in past years. it may be true that china really owns huge part of the south china sea but they're not suppose to trespass other country's territory just like what happened in taiwan, vietnam, the phillipines etc. China is so desperate in claiming most islands in the oil rich spratly islands due to massive oil deposit. If there's a breakout of war surely China would lose because NATO will surely be on Japan's side.

Oh god yeah I disagree with what you said. why war??? Let them take it. are you benefiting out of it in anyway??? I am sure not in any single way. There are the big rich people taking advantage of you common people who have such mentality. You let yourself taken advantage of by your leaders and rulers. Decide for yourself because in the end you are the ones who will be at loss. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.

they want to be superior and feel superior that's what they are taught in schools, I've heard a lot of my people being called bad names and despite of their hardwork there, still being ridiculed. I really don't want any kind of war with china because it's been a trade partner for years, nobody wins in a war..

Thank you, I guess you are a pacificist, right? In fact, most of us are pacificists as well. You know, however, this world is not ruled by a single country, on the contrary, we are from different countries with different complexions and tongues. A country means a regime, embodying a kind of spirit and culture which only belong to the nationals of this coutry. So, inevitably, there are conflicts between different coutries when clash of their respective benefit come out. Peace is temporary, and contradiction is eternal. The existence of the war is to make a better peace. Therefore, what we can do is to relish the precious peace time now.

No matter in military power aspect and ecnomic strength aspect. Do you think Japan, including Philippines can exceed? China is the biggest export country of Japan, exerting immense impact on Japan's economy. If we take economic sanction, undoubtly, Japan will be stuck in another depression. And if war, they will be beaten immediately.

I think Japan has done a very foolish action in such time. This japan's behavior has damaged the relationship between two contries with no doubt. As we know, japan is in its serious econmic crsis period while china's econmy is growing rapidly. The japan's econmy is depend on china very much. So bad relationship between two contries is not benificial for japan's econmy.
On the other hand, i think japan may be aware its behavior can trigger china's intense opposition, but it do it as well. We can't ignore the other country behind japan and china, America. America is the allay of japan and other Southeast Asia contries. The collison among china and china and other Southeast Asia contries has a relationship with America. Without America's support, i don't think japan has ability to against with china.
