Religious Confusion

September 13, 2012 3:51am CST
Greetings fellow mylotters. I would like to present a discussion which subject is about Religious Confusion. Do you think this is already happening? As we can see around us the different religions each having millions of adherents or followers, each having different beliefs and practices. Christianity alone has "1001' different sects or denominations. Would you want to share your comment?

Hi Tony! Yes, there are thousands of different religions but what is the truth? My best advice is that each one of us should read the Bible daily, pray often during each day, look for a place of worship that follows the Bible closely, do as Jesus did by sharing the good news of the kingdom with all that will listen, fill our lives with goods deeds and kind acts and God will be very close to us. Remember the confusion at the tower of Babel or Babylon. In the book of Revelation we are introduced to Babylon the Great which I have come to understand as "the many confusing religions" that are not following God's ways. Jesus did say that in the time of the end there would be many misleading prophets so we need to beware and stay awake. All the best!

Hi Tony! "Since I believe all religion is teaching about love, respect and all manner of doing good." I would like to challenge you on this. Do all religions actually teach love respect and good or do they only talk about it but are very poor when it comes to actually practicing love and respect? Unfortunately, when it comes to showing love, most religions have done a very poor job? Very sad!

Good day my friend greetings. Amen to your response. Your advise is well taken cared of. You know, sometimes I would like to think differently. Since I believe all religion is teaching about love, respect and all manner of doing good. Even though millions of religion will resurfaced, it will be a "competition" of sharing love, giving respect, blessing and all manner of doing good, this world will be better place to live with. Isn't it?

Good day mangtony7451, No doubt there are so many religions and beliefs and you are correct to assume people get confused and find hard to decide which one to follow. I think one must ask The God for guidance from the deapth of their heart as He is the Creator of us all and He is the one Who can guide us all.

I don't believe that there are 'many' gods. We have one earth, one heaven, one hell, and one life. There is only one God. He is the One that created the universe and everything in it. I believe that the God that created me is also the God that created other people. When we die, we will all be judged by Him. He will be the One who will send us to either Heaven or Hell. He is the Omnipotent, the Alpha and Omega. So, we have to find that ONE TRUE GOD. There will be no more confusion if we find this One True God. Yes, I agree with what you said, pray to HIM, ask for His guidance so that you will find that path that will lead you to the truth.

Good day Naseem00 greetings. Yes I definitely agree my friend. This is what I mean in saying, "praying with the heart". Ahalam aleikum. Ooops sorry, did I put/say it right? And to micha5088, greetings. Please allow me to quote I Cor.8:5-6 KJ version, "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many". verse 6, "but to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him". You may want to add Eph.4:4-6. Peace be with you my friend.

Fact is: Because people see and understand things baased upon their individual experiences, there are always going to be as many beliefs/opinions as there are people, regardless of the religion. The one solid thing I know is that one cannot confess to know the loving and good God of creaton and then go about resenting other people for their held doctrines.

Hello Netsbridge, greetings. I agree with you my friend. No wonder other people consider religion as "only an opiate of the people" especially those who do not believe in God. What can you comment?

Hi, I am not so religious. Religions are made by man and not by God. I also have some confusions regarding religions. I am Hindu. I respect all the religions. Teachings of all the religions are same. But many people of different religion are fighting with each other in the name of religion.

hello roshigo, greetings. Like you , I respect all people regardless of religion. I am willing to accept/embrace them as brothers and sisters. It is the used, misused and abused of religion ( or in the name of religion) that is sowing the discords, stripes and even extreme hatred or as you have said, fighting and killing one another. Yet I believe, the main and central objective of all religion is LOVE. Love of God and love of our fellow human beings.
