Okay, my daughter gave me this look and said "ma, who really you're looking huh?" (!_!) Actually I was looking for the youngest because my pen is missing. He's the only person in the house who keeps picking my pen. But for goodness, I mentioned all their names starting from the eldest Shesshhh.... I only have 3 kids Imagine if I have a dozen - then,it's like having a roll call (~_`)lols Not that anyway, it would be worse if YOU ARE THE ONLY CHILD, and your parent/s are calling names I guess that would create suspicion (hehehe) Have a great day everyone (^_^) -(sorry I run out of emoticon) jaiho®- getting older lols 9-13-2012 4:54pm Thursday PT

I have seen a son forgetting the name of his father. He was my friend. We were taking admission in the college and filling in admission form.He had to write his father's name in a column.I was busy filling in my admission form.He suddenly stopped, looked at me with inquisitive eyes and asked,'Father's name!Oh God!What's his name?'I laughed,'You don't know your father's name?'He was still looking at me.And then he asked me,'Would you please tell me what my father's name is?'I burst into laughter. Then I told him his father's name. Now it was his turn to laugh,'Sorry, yaar,I had forgotten papa's name. And had you not told me,I would have written here,'papa.'

Goodness, but I guess so. If he really is that absent minded, one day he might forget his name as well

Hahaha.. When I read your discussion, I immediate remember my mother. She used to do this on us, we are four siblings in the family. And often times when she calls us especially when angry or destructed, she would call us by all our names.. Wondering which one of us, she really wants to see. When we came to see her, then she will realize only one of us she wanted to see.

Oh, I know how that feels like!!!!! We are 4 siblings, my dad and mom would call each and everyone of us even if they meant to call just one of us. I guess they were in a hurry to ask the question (before they forgot the question they wanted to ask in the first place) hehehee.. So they'd go calling all of us at random because they forgot the name. Hehehehe.. I guess you were only too busy thinking that's why you forgot their names. hehehe.. Bad mommy! Have a great mylot experience ahead!

This is one reason I would name all my kids the same... so if I remember one, they know I am referring to all And also, it would not play a load on my memory... I have other things too to remember

nah,the 1 and 2 would be still difficult... how about only - thesids? Wife will have easier life... and would be calling only theSids (hey that is plural already, foresightedness) - when she needs all of us at the dining table or even otherwise....

That is alright, but my daugher never tell my name to anybody, in case someone ask her, she will be in trouble, Not she, the person who listen the name will be really in trouble, they can't simply pronounce my name, instaed, they will say something and all will start laughing. So my daughter call me KK and even sometime wife also call KK. Oh, where I am going! So, finally who took the pen, out of the 3?

Hi dear, Exactly same thing happens always with my mother in law. If she calls any of her sons mostly she starts from her second son’s name, who lives bit away from her home. She has four sons and mostly she called out all other’s name before the exact one. As it is a normal routine, all started to laugh when she call the one who is not at present home and eagerly waiting to listen who she wants exactly. When she called her daughter in laws name, the person may be around her, but she calls some one’s name, who is not around (lol). It happens with me too, I said the name of elder son instead of younger one. In fact I was scolding the younger one for something, but you know how he took advantage of mentioning the elder’s name wrongly, he said, mom scold you brother, not me (very smart). I said no, I scold you, he said no no, you said his name only…ugh!!!!! I think, it is not forgetting but some thing other than this, not getting the exact definition.

nahh, it happens a lot of times with me here dear sister. i have five of them. and there are times that i have to roll call them when i should only have to say is zayyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! oh yes, that would be very suspicious when you have only one child and you call him/her with a lot of names.

Poor kid. Keep doing that, and she's going to get a complex. My "kids" are cats, so I don't have to worry too much if I slip and use the wrong name. They'll just get their revenge on me by walking on my rib cage or something--the usual deal. I know who is in charge here, and it's not the humans...

Jai sis, your this discussion reminded me of what had happened to my home a few years ago when i was still a teenager. There is someone looking for my sister on the phone. My father answered the phone and let my mother know that someone looking for my sister. My mother was still eating at that moment but she helped my father to call my sister who is still bathing the dog. Instead of calling my sister name, she called the dog's name. Uhh? My sister was surprised and asked my mother, who is looking for her dog. Then only my mother realized that she is calling the wrong name. What happened if the dog can even answer the phone???

Hi jaiho: That was a really amkward moment actually But I can understand this situations. Our minds can play us some treaks like this sometimes. I sometimes forgot a name and it's a very uncomfortable moment until you remember it. I try to act natural and not mention the name until I'm sure what's the name of the person ALVARO

That was funny, Jaiho! But my parents also commit that when they call one of us to do a chore. They would call me with the name of my sibling! Well, i guess they commit that out of haste of calling me. So, don't feel bad , jaiho.

I thought that was part of being a mom! lol I have 2 older sisters and a younger brother and our parents named us all a name that starts with "J". Our parents would go down the list and finally we'd get our name called. I just thought it was because our names all started with "J". Then found out after I had children, it doesn't matter or not if they start with the same letter or not, I can be looking a one child and call the other one their name.

Once in awhile I will call my kids each others names but not often. My parents are always calling my little neice my name accidentally because she acts so much like me when I was young. Now my little nephew is two months old and they keep calling him my sons name I guess because he was the youngest for so long.

hello shaggin, Sorry for my late response. I think that's cute when your parents call your niece by your name. I guess your niece is your little version and that's the reason why your parents called her by your name- probably they miss the little you

We all do things like that occasionally . I once addressed a large package to our daughter using her maiden name. instead of her married name. She had already been married to her husband for 25 years at the time. Incidentally, he got a kick out of my goof.

Oh no... It's the sign of... I hope your son did not get mad for something. My mom's sort of like that, interchanging the names of my 2 brothers. And, what I really find funny is that he keeps referring to the 2nd child as my "kuya" (Mom, is there something you're not telling me? I grew up thinking I'm eldest! LOOOLLL). So every time I have to correct her, no ma, he's not my kuya. I'm ate. LOOOOOLLLLLLL

hello gloryacam, Sign of aging..well, I am not hiding my age, it's shouting on my profile page. I am also posting my real photos so age is not a big deal for me I am calling my kids ate (my eldest and only girl) kuya for my second son and bunso for the youngest. The moment I called them by their names, they know I am angry then Well, maybe your younger brother looks older than you that's why your mom think he is older than you- or......

I guess I act younger than my age. Or maybe because he's married with kids so it looks like he's more mature? Or maybe because he's tall and I'm not? LOOLLL I don't know. I know a lot of moms who do that. I have a friend who has a long name, Kathleen Anne, and is usually called Kathy. When her mom (God bless her soul) called her "Kathleen Anne!" she knew she was in trouble. LOOOLLLL

That was really funny. I think it was because of her excitement to tell me something about the good news. It happens to me sometimes too. :)
