I had frequent attack of the so called migraine, I just found it out last week after I went to a clinic for check up. I had experience sensitivity to light, sound and motion. I also vomit and almost fainted.
Since I want to get over from this pain I checked out for the information over the internet and so I found out that it's not just headache. And so I got more worried about it since one of the studies I read said that , it is more dangerous to women whose taking birth control as it would trigger stroke.
I'd like to know more about migraine, so I'm working every possible way to get information.

My mother got migraine headaches all her life. They would make her sick sometimes for 2-3 days as she got older. I started having them when I was 20. I had 1-3 a year. Extreme pain at the base of my skull. The only thing that worked for me was sleep. Once I woke up with one after sleeping all night (about 8 hrs). I had a migraine within minutes of waking up. I put a cold cloth at the base of my skull and laid in bed. After getting sick, maybe 1-2 hrs later I fell asleep and slept for 8 hrs. I woke up and the headache was gone. But even after sleeping all night I still was able to go back to sleep for another 8 hrs. It was as if my body knew it needed sleep to fight the headache and something made me fall back to sleep. My doctor said my brain probably started to produce some chemical to make me sleep. And birth control pills can be very bad for you. Every woman today who takes all these new bc pills is a guinea pig for the pharmaceutical companies. When I started taking a lot of vitamins I stopped having migraines. I haven't had one in 30 years. It might be the B Complex as I started taking that before anything else. Here is a link that may prove helpful. It's a very good website that I have used frequently and know many people who use it as well. It is all natural remedies www.earthclinic/CURES/migraines.html Good luck and I hope this helps.

I don't think vitamins will make you gain weight. Vitamins only really work if you take them every day. If you're worried about gaining weight, you could eat 1 or 2 pink grapefruits every day. I like the pink ones. Also drink lots of water and stay away from fatty foods. I started drinking 3-4 quarts of water a day 3mos. ago and have lost 16lbs. Thanks for commenting!

How is your migraine now,BabyEj?If you were in birth control pills stop it now because it is one of the factor that trigger your migraine. The other factors are stress, anxiety, lack of food or sleep, frequent exposure to light and your hormonal changes because you are taking birth control pills. You could make this sickness stop
by eating oatmeal and sweet potatoes this is a good source of magnesium,a food when your body is lacking could trigger a migraine. You can also eat cherries, sweet corn and even an oat can give you melatonin, the mineral found in these foods that regulates your sleep cycle to prevent a migraine attack. You could also eat flaxseed,
salmon and lapu-lapu fish, this foods contains omega 3 that reduces the intensity of your migraines. You could also indulge in milk and eggs, this foods has riboflavin that helps reduce the severity and the number of migraines ones it attacks you.I wish
I have help you in some ways.

If only I had known then what I know now, I could have avoided years of terrible pain from migraines. Mine were hormonal and could be counted on every other month to totally upset my life for at least one day. Now there is, even an over the counter, medication that if taken at the first sign can allow you to function during this time of pain. If that doesn't work your Doctor has more powerful meds.
One thing about getting older, if your migraines are caused by hormones, they will go away when your period goes away. You have my heartfelt wishes that you will find an easy way to cope with this problem. Blessings

When I first got them all that was known was that if your Mom had them you had more chance to get them. Years later modern medicine started to listen to women and put science to work on the problem. After all if you got the bloody things each month or even every other month it wasn't a giant leap to assume the woman's hormones had something to do with it. So they did studies and that's what they found. But they also found that many other things caused migraines also.

I've only had one or two migranes in my life. I couldnt get out of bed, and just felt so off even after that. I remember a lady I worked with would use this as an excuse at least 4 out of 5 days of work, she would have a migrana meanwhile after one of us midnigt staff would stay and go shopping after work she would be out shopping, or playing BINGO. So I think we alwys see those who fake it, and use it as an excuse and think of them.
