Do most people know what cheese curds are?

When I think of cheese curds I don't think of fried cheese curds that you get at most restaurants as an appetizer... although those are good too. But cheese curds the kind that are just cheese chunks and squeak in your mouth when you bite into them! They are so good, but I love cheese being from Wisconsin. It's just funny when I mention cheese curds to most people where I live now in Illinois they have no idea what I'm talking about. They don't sell them in the stores either. Time for a trip to Wisconsin is needed I guess.

i am a chinese girl , i like chinese food , and i love my country too, i feel the same with you , as i like the noodles of boy bean paste beijing style cooked by my mom ,, you love the chinese curds very much , though , you can't buy them in the stores , but i believe you can remember it forever, you must miss the chinese food and your favorite chinese curds . thank you for you sharing that my lovely friends best wishes to you

Oh man, cheese curds are so good. But of limited availability. As a kid I could only get them in upstate New York, not the midwest.
