I am busy with our family and work now. So I don't have much more spare time to do what I like. One day when I am retired, I know I will have lots of plans for my hobbies. At least I know I will spend more time playing the video games and I no longer feel guilty to it

Hahaha... you are looking forward to play video games.
I believe by the time you are retired, many great video games
are available and you won't be bored.
I am a retiree now. I spend my time fetching my son to and from
school. Life is great but the negative thing is that no income,
limited spending power. It is a big drawback. My advise to you now
is earn as much as possible, save and invest certain portion to earn
higher return. Then you can retire happily not like me. At the moment,
my wife is looking high and low for a job just to cover our monthly
expenses.

Youless, i hope that by the time i grow old, i would have enough money for me to travel around the world. I like traveling a lot and sight-seeing many places. Besides that, i hope to have a healthy body and mind, so able to fulfill my wish to go traveling. When i was young i am also addicted to video games. But not now, i think i am more interest to go traveling.

I am retired. And what I do is spend more time at the computer and watching TV than I used to. But I`m not sure if that is because I need more rest than I used to need. As for being guilty, I don`t know if that comes with age or with retirement.

Wow! I hope we could still have good eyesight during that time. Ha ha! Well, there are really a lot of things that we would like to do but not enough time. So we have to take care of our health while we are young so we can still do the things that we like when we retire! Have a nice day!

Hi ARies! a good eyesight! Yeah , that's also what I want. My dad is hard of hearing. He has also undergone three eye surgeries, I hope that eye issues are not hereditary. You are right, we really have to take care of our body while we are young to enjoy life.

I would like to work my butt while young and while I have no kids to look after so when I retire, I would have enough money to live a simple yet comfortable life. I would love to have a small garden where I can plant vegetables that I can put on our table that means I would not have to spend a lot of a pennies in the market for our food. I don't want to give troubles for my future children when I get old, so would save a lot of money in case I get sick so that my children will not worry about my hospital bills. I want to enjoy my life after years and years of hardwork.

I am in my forties so still have a long time left to go before I retire. I have got a few dreams for when I retire, one being, having a bungalow (one storey property) by the ocean, with just me and animals, away from the big city and towns, and for me peace and quiet is the greatest importance. I prefer my own company, so wouldn't get lonely, and hopefully Mylot will still be here so I can continue Mylotting, as well as playing games and talking to people on Facebook. Trouble is the way the world is, it is difficult to plan too much, especially with the economic climate and the way society is heading.

Hi youless,
Your post here made me have a big smile.
When I was much younger, I looked forward to being retired. The direction my life took was like the consequences of serious mistakes and bad decisions so I thought I can at least be in control of and be prepared for retirement.
So, over the years, I stored away lots of books and craft works, things to happily occupy my time.
Meanwhile, life happened and my interests changed and so did the world. I'm retired now and my computer rules my life. I have my own home, my garden, all my books and craft works, I live alone but this laptop is the boss, the centre of my world.

I am retired, and while there were computers before I retired, there weren't any when I was young.
I do have a little job, and when my client gets out the hospital I go back to it, but meanwhile, I don't feel guilty if I do nothing but play on the computer or sleep...
I have a few goals I set for myself, and I feel pretty good when I meet them, but I don't beat myself up if I don't

In my country people usually retire when they are 65. I am 35 now so I will retire 30 years from now. The house where my husband and I live at the moment is not suitable for senior citizens so when we get older we are not going to live here. We are going to sell the house at that time, rent a apartment and spend the money from the house on travelling. I hope that both husband and I will both me healthy and able to travel at that time. The rest of the time I plan on taking some classes and spending more time on my hobbies like reading and art.

I still have a very specific plan for retirement, maybe I will spend some time to plant some potted plants. I also want to raise pets such as cats or dogs, then I can go to street or part with them, that will be an interesting thing. Perhaps I will practice calligraphy and drawing to pass the time at home. Now I only can ensure one thing, if I want to do all things above after retire, I should keep my body health.

In my retired age I assumed I will be over 56. For me what is the most important in that age is to stay health and always independent (not needing any help to take care of myself). In order to stay healthy we need fresh food and clean air. So I want to stay at a farm or village, have people works for me to take care the farm and enjoying my harvest time .

Well, retirement as of now is long time away for me. But the point is I would love to have a smooth transition for job life to retirement life. What happens with many people they would be busy with their job till the last day of retirement and then one fine day they find they have no work and sit lonely at home. that is a terrible situation to be in and I hope I would never have to face such situations.

I am fortunate in that I am on a disability income, so I get the same amount of money for the restof my life, unless I get a raise due to the cost of living. I also have a small savings account if I want something that my monthly income will not allow me to purchase As for what I plan to do with my time, same thing I'm diong now! LOL

I used to plan for early retirement and do all the things that I wish
I can do earlier on. However, a good planning ahead is very vital. We must
be financially strong to be able to retire comfortably and be able to do the
things like traveling, and other hobbies etc. It seems my ideal retirement
have to be postponed as the current cost of living is skyrocketing! I am
struggling just to cover my household expenditure like utilities bills.
Now I have to look for job and it is not easy to look for one at my age!
I knew a gentleman, he is a PHD holder, O COO of a huge organisation.
He also have some properties passed down to him by his parents, He is now
retiring comfortably and pursuing what he likes. He is concentrating on
song composing (his hobby) and pursuing another PhD
He can do that because he has no financial worries!
