Did you get worried about stretch marks?

Stretch marks are results of rapid weight gain or loss. I think most women suffer from this. It is not a disease but it can be a cause of shame for some others and prevent them from wearing bikinis or swim wears or show some skin with quite revealing dresses.
As I am not a swimmer and definitely will not try bikini wear and too revealing dresses, I am not worried at all although my stretch marks are not that worse.
How about you, ma'am/miss?

somehow i am so glad bikinis are not that popular here lol.. but well with three kids i really have a lot of those too. I am not really that worried about it as i am not also fond of wearing bikinis and i am not a swimmer and i am not a water person..so yes i am not worried about it. But i have been using a lotion to help minimize it just so it is nice to look at lol..

I have some that I got from my pregnancy.. although the oil and the cream that you can purchase in some malls are somehow effective. Although the marks wouldn't completely disappear but it will lighten.
Yes I am worried about those as I am dreaming of getting back with my swimsuits! Probably I'll try the procedures that some clinics are offering that promises your stretch marks will completely disappear.

It is quite expensive bingskee and it would take more than 6 sessions for you to completely satisfied with the results! For now, i'd stick with the cream and the oil, i still need to save money for the clinical procedures!

Not at all, the only time I had rapid weight gain was when I was pregnant. I found this recipe for homemade lotion to apply during my last 2 pregnancies, (I have 4 children) and it worked at keeping the stretch marks at bay. I don't have the exact amounts, but it was a mixture of aloe, olive oil, and vitamins E and A.

I have stretch marks from my teenage growth spurt on the inside of my thighs and on my butt. To be completely honest, I'm not embarrassed of them at all. It's a slight to even non-existent possibility that someone will be that close to me or that detail-oriented to notice them. Besides, without lying, I'll say that I absolutely love stretch marks. Not only on myself, but my husband is overweight and has them in multiple places...his stomach, armpits, etc. I think they are really cool looking, because each stretch mark is unique to the body on which it is drawn.
My husband is super self conscious about his, but I love his particularly because they remind me of lightning bolts and are absolutely fascinating. My own stretch marks (especially the ones I see often on my thighs) are pretty neat looking because they look as if a cat has clawed each thigh in the same manner, so it's balanced.
Years ago, when I was in high school, I knew what society says about stretch marks, so I tried to apply different lotions and stuff to be rid of them. After a little while, I just stopped. The idea of hiding them in some way bothered me; not only did I really like the marks, but covering up any part of my body would hint at me being ashamed of it, and I'm simply not. To each his/her own, but to me, stretch marks are just a type of individualistic and natural "tattoo."

wow. it sounds almost unbelievable reading your words. most of the time, girls and women alike dread having stretch marks.
you sound like a very positive and happy person. everybody should learn from this comment of yours. stretch marks may affect a person but it should not ruin one's life.

Im not as worried about stretch marks..I don't have a lot of stretch mark but i do have some on my thighs unless Im wearing a really mini skirt you can't really see them..and i have a little bit of stretch marks on my stomach during my pregnancy and after..They're not so bad so im not going to worry about it..You can prepare for stretch marks while pregnant by buying a lotion that is specifically for stretch marks. This will help reduce or help prevent from getting stretch mark..
Stretch marks start at puberty and nature doesn't pick whether you're skinny or overweight..I think it can be preventable unlike cellulite..

wow, that is one very nice info, crimsonone!
am sure everybody reading the comments will learn a lot.
i do not have a lot, too, and actually, it's the bulges that made me worry more ha ha but those, too, can be remedied with discipline and exercise.
it's not really about being skinny or overweight. i read from somewhere that lotions with shea butter could help lessen.
thank you very much for participating. appreciate it very much.

No problem..I appreciate it also for replying back..:o)
The most popular brand is the Palmers Cocoa butter..It's been a while since I've used it..you can get some at thyme maternity too...It's quite costly but i think it's worth the investment..

That's not actually the only way you can get stretch marks. If you grow really fast in a short amount of time, you can get stretch marks. I did when I was eleven. I grew six inches in a very short amount of time. Besides experiencing tremendous pain in my arms and legs because of "growing" pains I got stretch marks on my arms, and behind my knees. The ones behind my knees are very faint. I was dismayed, because I was thin, and I too didn't expect stretch marks simply for growing. There is a product called Bio Oil that helps eliminate stretch marks. I do not buy it because it is expensive and you have to use it consistently for it to have an effect. A lot of other experts say using cocoa butter is another way to get rid of them, or at least minimize their effect.

I have had three pregnancies and these have given me stretch marks that would be easily seen on my tummy and lower down. I like to wear a one piece swimming costume that covers my tummy. I don't wear a bikini but I think wearing them on a seaside vacation under my clothes would be a good idea.

I was lucky, I never really got stretch marks, even with the twins.

yea... I got some stretch marks from two of my pregnancies and they don't seem to completely go away so I am not fond of wearing bikini very much because I don't have a nice belly anymore with all those obvious stretch marks. But as much as I worry, I don't think they're going away anyway so I just leave it alone and hope for the best.

I have delivered twice and lucky for me I only have a little stretch marks. I think maybe it's because of my skin type or just because I'm not skinny. Maybe if I'm getting thinner I will see them get worse, now that such a dilemma since I've been a little bit overweight.

I had given birth twice already and my stretch marks are really worse. But it's okay for me. I am not conscious about it because I am not anymore wearing clothes that would show my skin. There are also available medicines in the market but never tried any of them.

Yes stretch marks are not attractive but that is a path of life that none of us can escape. As someone gets older all the stored fat starts showing especially at the bottom as cellulite. I guess the best thing is to love yourself just the way you are because that is that one can do.

I lucked out when I had a baby in that I didn't get any stretch marks at all. I was very worried though but my Mom and sister said they didn't so I guess it ran in our family and we were lucky. I have friends though that are still very upset about them years after having a baby. I guess if I had them it would bother me a little but now thinking about it, I don't wear a bikini anyways so the only one that would see it is my husband.

I too do not have stretch marks as yet and I don't like them also. Many ladies post delivery get lot of stretch marks but I tell you, I have girls in my neighborhood who have no stretch marks and they are mothers. I was surprised to see it. They said none of them have it and it is genetic because there mother does not have it. I told them that they were very lucky in this case. I hope I was like that..but my mum has it so I will have it too I guess. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
