So what exactly is considered "safe chatting" ? I know not to give personal information out but something like facebook isnt personal. Anyone can randomly find you so does it matter if I give my facebook name to a stranger on a chat site? Yes they're a stranger but so are a lot of people on facebook that try to add me, which I don't accept. What's the difference?
By the way we all know that not everyone on chat sites are dangerous perverts because even us normal people go on but yes I know it's always good to be careful but honesyly I havent gave my facebook name out to everyone considering that its my full name.. but I thought about it last time I talked to someone.

Chatting is quite common in this days and most of the online social sites providing the chat option. Most of the time we are chatting with unknown strangers where we find them using online sites. We must be very careful while chatting with them. As we don't know who is a good person and who is a scammer and hacker in online, so better to have a friendly chat without sharing our personal information.
Most of the persons have nick names for chat and using their user name to hide their real name and identity. There is nothing wrong in sharing our real name, but if we have a nick name it will be more useful. Some persons will get closure with frequent chat, they will share some of their information with us, but we don't know whether it is real or not. Some persons will share false information to us to get our real information, so never share your private information with unknown strangers until you have a good understanding and trust with them.
Day by day the count of chatters are gradually increasing. Chatting don't have any age limitation, small kids to old persons are interested in chatting. Age is not a factor for chatting. Some persons started to flirt using online chat, this kind of persons may change their age and gender and give fake information to win over our heart. We must avoid this kind of persons and there is no meaning for such kind of flirting. We may just pass our time with this kind of flirting and don't take this kind of activities as a serious one.
Be honest and real while chatting. Don't use fake and false information, if you are not interested in giving your real identity, you can stay as anonymous, it is far better than giving false and fake information which is a great offense. If you want to have a real and honest chat, you must be honest with your chat partner. Don't use chatting for flirting, use the chat option to find real friends and make a good friendship bond using online sites with the chat option.

All your personal details are your personal information like your name, contact number, address, email details and so on. Don't share it with unknown persons

What I did before was made another Facebook account. I never revealed who I was. And I didn't intend of ever meeting anyone of them. I'd like to keep my distance so, it is only through chat that we can communicate.

Even if i give out my name or email on facebook to somebody, that person won't still find me there. Not because I don't have an account but because something happened to my account years ago that i have nothing to do about. Maybe facebook found me so precious they prefer to hide my true identity!
Not unless we have a common friend and you search me in that friend's friends, then you won't find me. Besides i really don't like facebook and i don't have strangers there as friends.
