So I recently moved from california to new orleans on the first of this year... it was a big change! but it made me miss california's fame so much. Like I didn't know it was that that famous.. well so is new orleans so it's not that big of a change but moving made me realize what i didnt get to do in california. I lived in socal for all my life and only went up northish once when i went to yosemite in 8th grade. So now I'm stuck here where I cant complain much because I experienced mardi gras but I really wish I got to explore my home state more.. So now question... What are some famous places in california that I should go when I visit this summer?

I agree with Veromar it depends where in Cali you are from. I could only give you suggestions around San Diego area and some near LA but if you lived forther up north then I've not been that far to be useful here. But San Diego you have the Zoo and wild animals park, Seaworld, Scripps Aquarium, some museums, you can visit Old Town or see the sealions at La Jolla. Further up closer to LA you have Disneyland, Universal studios or you could go to dinner at Medieval Times But I got to tell you I was a total tourist so maybe these may not interest you. . oh and PF Changs was a highlight for me, we don't have that in Australia

Hi, I have a friend that moved from Cali, to Florida. I asked her how did she like Fla.? and she said it was boring compared to Cali. But other than that things are good. I hope you learn your way around New Orleans and get to enjoy your stay there. Be blessed.

Don't worry about Yosemite. You aren't missing much. I wouldn't go there and risk getting sick with the Hanta Virus, but I know what you mean about everything else. I have pretty much done everything that I could do in So Cal, and I have been up to No Cal a couple of times because I have a lot of relatives that live up there. I am a Native California, and I love it here, and I have been out of state plenty of times because, but I am just wondering why you moved to New Orleans? It gets hot and humid over there. There are also many hurricanes there. It's a great place to visit, but I would never want to move there. Well, if you haven't been to the Santa Monica Pier, then you need to do that. You should also go to the Getty Museum and the Getty Villa in Malibu if you get the chance. If you have gone to the Griffith Observatory, then I suggest that. Ojai, California is also a place everyone seems to brag about right now, so I would check that place out. For No Cal, I suggest the Capital Building and San Francisco. Napa and Eureka are also two nice places to visit. The LA County Fair is also going on right now in Pomona, CA.

Well........you didn't say what part of California you're from. That would help to respond better. Most people that are not from the U.S. automatically associate "California" with "Hollywood". Of course, Hollywood is such a SMALL part of the state of California. I lived a couple of places there when I was a kid. My dad was military so, of course, I lived in San Diego and surrounding areas. San Diego has an awesome zoo and a marine park that I can't remember the name of (Sea World maybe???). Knott's Berry Farm was an amazing place to visit (that's where they make jam's and jelly's but it's an amusement park as well). http://www.knotts.com/ Of course, it's changed a LOT since I was last there! lol. That was 30 years ago, BUT, it's STILL there! I'm sure it still has some of the awe that it had back then. The Golden Gate Bridge is a must see. It's simply mind blowing to look at. That's in San Francisco for those that don't know. Disneyland.....not the same as the one in Florida (DisneyWORLD). The drive along the Malibu coast is breath-taking to say the least. The Sequoia forrest. I could go on and on. California is a beautiful state. The only thing I'd do in Hollywood (although I'd never go there personally. Been there, done that).....go to the Walk of Fame and look at the handprints and signatures of the famous. It's pretty interesting. And if you're there, you might as well try and get into Graumen's Chinese Theatre (http://www.chinesetheatres.com/).....good luck with that! lol. There's sooooooooooooo much more. It's just a shame that it's on a fault line.......
