So lucky to have found true friends in the Office...

I know it is quite common to make friends at the workplace... but we can never be sure if they are to be a true friend to us, lest we are always guarded of what to expect and how to react with them... we declare most of those we worked with as "officemate" too most of the time, right? This is because we know in our hearts they are never the person we would go to if we have problems.
However in my case, i can say i have found true friends at work, i no longer consider them as my officemate alone and i see them as my friends, close friends whom i would love to spend time with, talk, and whom i share what i normally don't share with people i am not very comfortable with. My friends at work has proven time and again how much i can rely on them. Just by my look they know i am feeling blue, they know i am troubled or is thinking of something that is bothering me.
It is really a blessing that i have transferred to a company where i would find these people who would grow to be my "best friends". i have gone through a great ordeal in my life and for the past months, their company has helped me become better, their company has made me realize that there is more to life - that friendships such as this exists and i am happy that i have found them and made friends with them! =)

it is true that its quite hard to find good friends, especially in the office because people are competitive... its going to be like just one or two that you will get close to and be really friends with. :D im happy i found more than enough company and i feel that we are going to be great buddies forever =)

thanks akagami =) it is really a blessing that i have been given such.. all the more that the blessings i have received is here at the office. :D I know that for some it is temporary but i'd think it is not and that it is for sure a long time relationship with them. :D

It is great when you manage to make a good friend at your place of work because it means that you actually have fun and enjoy yourself while you're there instead of finding that getting through the day is just too much effort. Where I last worked, I didn't get along with anybody at all and that meant that I really struggled to find the motivation to keep the job and to go to work in the mornings. But now that I have another job, I really do like the people who I work with and I am finding that it is making the world of difference.

Oh that was the case for me in my last work. i did get along with them but i know the so called friendship wasn't really true. and that we are only trying to be friends or civil with each other because we work with each other. There is no bonding, there were even no times of getting together out of the office and we have not known each other on a deeper level.

that is for sure ,i have so many good friends and nice trusted buddies in office who care a lot for me and i am totally blessed and happy for that and i wish it stays the same for you always

Hi chiyosan!
It's good to know that you found your true friends from work. I have a officemate that I considered as a true friend but later I found out that she is saying bad things about me when I'm not around. I was so disappointed and hurt.

thank you kris.. =) yes it is really a great blessing to have found true friends at work place. it adds life and it truly brings me happiness because the stress is so much lessened and know there are people who are with you that understands you and would be there for you and does not compete with you at work!

i am lucky yes, blessed as well for finding great friends at work. i know it is not often that this happens and usually people come and go in the work place and after you have left you just lose the connection - somehow though i am just feeling the need to celebrate a wonderful friendship... ;) thank you for your response to the discussion.

As you mentioned, we all do have friends in office. But to have trues friends is really hard. Once we get into professional life, our motive is to earn money and enhance our career options. In this prospects we never earn true friends. Its really great that you have indeed found some true friends at office.

yes, it is hard to find true friends, much more if you are in an environment set for competition (for career advancements, recognition, etc) but then it is truly a blessing that we have found each other. we have openly discussed these and we all share the same feeling of happiness. =)

I think no true friend in whole life in office or in house or in online life. Because now friends are selfish but if you got true friend means you are lucky. Now the real relationship like brother brother, sister and brother is not true so how can get the true friend.

Great to hear that! It is always more motivating and enjoyable to go to the workplace if you have friends there. I dislike the idea about the workplace as a site of competition where people step on each other's toe just to get on top of the corporate ladder. But it's the sad part of reality. Although there are some people who dislike me, I learned to get along with them for the job's sake. Yet I am also fortunate like you to have found some good friends there. You get to meet all sorts of people at work.

thank you seriousnuts. yes, it always motivates me to be with them and to go to work. it is such a big factor to know that even in such a stressful environment where you face a lot of issues, deadlines you get to be with your friends at the end of the day and just be yourself and you know they understand how you feel because they are there with you, and they know what is happening.

Hey it was great to hear about your new best friends at office and i hope u all would work together as a team and be an example for the company. It is very important to have cordial relationship at your work place and when u have good competent and co operative collegues around u i think half of the battle is won and it is great that u have found them at your work place.

yes, that is right.. i feel really blessed to have found them and have become friends with them. It sure makes me feel i can always go to work and do my tasks and be happy at the same time because i would be in their company during free time. he he
