Yesterday I experienced my first severe migraine. Usually when I get them their minor and I take some medicine and it goes away. Yesterday I woke up with one at 430am I took 2 ibeprofeun and got ready for work. I thought I was not going to make it thru the day. The migraine got worse and worse because I work in front of a computer and everything. It literally got to the point where I felt like I was going to vomit, I couldn't eat anything all day.
My boss let me go home at noon so I went to the store and got some saltine crackers and gingerale and stuff I could eat and then came home. I was starting to feel dizzy from it. I slept from 1-430pm yesterday and then just slept off and on the rest of the night. Have you guys ever experienced this before? What did you do about it?
I feel a whole lot better today I am still tired but no migraine or headache today. I'm able to do more things and can function properly. Just going to take the day to take it easy and get fully better before my bowling league tomorrow. And hope to pray this doesn't happen again.

I, sometimes, suffer migraine as well. I usually take some aspirin and it will go away. But sometimes, I just lie down and make myself sleep. After taking a nap, the pain will usually go away.
If you have migraine quite often, I suggest you to go to the doctor and do some checkup so that you can know what exactly causes you migraine.
Hope you get well soon.

Thanks I will do that but this is the first time its ever happened to me. I've had migraines 3 days in a row this week and Friday it just got really bad to where I couldn't function properly. But if it continues I will definitely contact my doctor.

Having migraine for three days are killing.. However, sometimes it is because the drastic change of temperature. Like for example you just been in a place with hot temperature, then suddenly you get into room with cold temperature... that can cause you migraine as well..
I will keep you in my prayer.. hope you get better soon!

Benadryl seems to help with really bad migraines. It opens the nasal passages and also helps you sleep. I get severe migraines lasting days sometimes and will have to get a shot for those. The migraines I can treat at home I use this regimen. In case it is related to sinus pressure, I do a nasal rinse followed by Benadryl and a warm bath then I put vaporub on my sinuses but make sure not to get it in my eyes then I will lay down and sleep it off. If migraines last, they can be life threatening. I was told by an emergency room physician that you should be treated for a migraine if it has not gone away after 24 hours.

Thanks for the suggestion I will have to try these tricks if I ever get one again. My aunt also told me if you go to the ER they can put you on an IV to help rid of the migraine. I tried Tylenol and ibuprofen the other day and both didn't work. Thanks for the advice.

When I get a migraine, I find that no over the counter pain pill helps. I just go in a dark room with no noise and sleep it off. Sometimes to help sleep, I will take 3-4 ibeprofeun. I remember one time I was working and I said I had to go home because I was having a migraine and they told me I had to stay, so I went into a room, with sunglasses, turned the lights off and closed the door. I spent about 7 hours of my shift like that. Then the other 1 hour I was walking around in the building with sunglasses on because the lights hurt my head. I've also had a migraine that was so bad I did actually vomit. That was not fun on the head either.

If I have headache or migraine, I will take headache medicine. After that, I usually go to sleep. Rest sufficient if I got headache. If accompanied by fever, so I use cold water to wash my face. I like being able to perform ablutions purify themselves and nourish the body. Be healthy my friends. Good soul is good body. So take care yourself and your family.

i'm having one now. I notice I get migraines whenever it's hot. I usually sleep with desk lamp on my head to ease the discomfort and it usually works. I don't know why, I just accidentally discovered this.

From time to time I do get migraines that bad. Normally if I just go and lay down and sleep for a little bit in the dark it goes away. It does help taking some kind of pain killer to help get ride of the migraine and then on top of that from time to time I get them because I'm hungry or just every tired from taking care of my little ones.
