How to fight stage fright or being shy to other people?

September 16, 2012 12:58am CST
Afraid of getting embarrassed, that's the first thing that comes into my mind when I will face a lots of people. Even if I really know what I will do or say, it recently happens that I experience mental block and forgot what I must do or say, especially, if the people that I will talk to are unfamiliar. I'm also shy to talk to other people, or to start a conversation with other people. Now that I'm already a college student, I know that I must do something about it because I know that shyness and stage fright can ruin my future and my ambitions in life. Can anyone give me some advice on how to solve my problem? Thank you. =)

I have the same problem too. I am also a college student and I tend to be more on the quiet side. Im not really good at keeping a conversation going most of the time and it makes me really nervous. One thing I do when im trying to get comfortable around people when i am at school is by asking a question. Usually something related to whatever class i am in.

Stage fright is seamlessly normal. Though stage fright is common, it can be very stressful. It may cause a person to shake or to repetitively obsess over the worst-case situation, such as slipping up on a word or blanking out completely. Whether you must make an oral staging or sing to a crowd, cram how to deal with your fear of being up on a stage. Practice a lot. You can never be too ready to get up in front of a large crowd of people. The more normal or instinctive your speech or presentation is to you, the less tense you will feel about it. A lot of nervousness is related with simply not feeling ready or capable of doing something.

when you think what other must be thinking about you while you are standing there being the center of attraction, then only the fear comes. it actually happens to almost everyone. I fight stage fear but thinking that I am the best and there is no one out there sitting and watching me is like me. I an the master and I am the best and whatever i do is something that they have to like it anyway. So have these positive thinking and you will not have the fear anymore. It is better to fight this fright at an early stage which will be better for your future. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead.
