Hello my dear fellows and my dear fellow Indians... The Govt of India announced another hike in diesel price. I'm sure they'll do it with Petrol too.. This is probably the 5th hike in a year.. The petrol was Rs. 60/- last year and now it's become almost 80 per liter. It goes to my heart to see the Common Man accept it all without any protest. There're protests by non governing political parties; but their ambition is the Governance and not the welfare... It is disheartening.. It is annoying to take it all, when we're fully aware that its going to burn more holes in our pockets.. Have we Indians forgotten our history? Have we lost our pride? Half of us, don't care and the other half is too lame to protest, suppressed by political parties... The proof is, they've been electing the same party- Congress, to govern us for years.. They don't have any option... I've heard- Churchill once said, if we free India, they'll be ruled by goons... How true was he! Whats the fuel price in your country? Please share, do you take it blindly? Do you take it all blindly?

In New Brunswick, Canada we are paying $1.38 Canadian per litre. That's why I ride a bicycle to work. I'm heading out the door for that in about ten minutes. Price of gas is a real frustration for the common man around the world.

It won't be bad for you to use bicycle instead of a car. You will improve your health. However, in our cities hardly any condition(s) exist for proper cycling.

I would like to tell you my friend that it is really painful that we have to go through this. But its not just the matter of diesel, this is one of the few hardships the government has to take inorder to keep the economy moving. In some other countries, fuel prices might be less, but living condition would be worse. Its bad that our country is ailing with scams, otherwise our economy would be in good shape. But at this point we have no choice other than to move with hard realities. Otherwise our economy would be nothing other than junk.

I'm in the States and we are paying almost 4.00 per gal. I'm pretty sure you all are paying a lot more. We feel ours is outrageous because of the economy here and no one can afford it. Everyone complains but no one here so far has protested that I know of.

Well, people of our country do protest, then forget again. And Opposition parties are not protesting for people. They have their own interests. Perhaps it is a much needed time for people to pressurize government(s) to fasten public transport expansion. And exert some real pressure.
