Moving Out: Living Alone or Moving in with a Stranger?

I suddenly feel the urgency to move out of my parents' house. I have been thinking about it for a while, but I finally feel like I am ready to do it. I have lived away at college before in my own room, but was still apart of some type of community. A lot of my friends from home are still in school and thus can not afford to move out right now. Therefore, I am having some trouble finding someone to live with. Also, in the past, when I did live in an apartment with friends while I was studying abroad, it seemed as though living together in such small quarters caused a lot of tension in our relationship and almost destroyed our friendship.
However, this will be my first time, on my own, completely solo. Do you think this is the best decision for someone's first time moving out or do you think that finding someone else who needs a roommate, even if it is a stranger, would be a better decision?

You would need a roommate makes paying bills A LOT easier so most of your income won't be just going to basics.
BUT downside you don't really know this stranger. Plus my husband once let a friend move in and he burnt down my husbands apartment by accident. As well if you don't know this person he/she could bail on you any moment and you would be stuck paying for the apartment yourself.
Also they could eat all your food and pawn your things. But that is usually IF. I would say wait. I moved out of my parents three days before my 18th birthday and was lucky enough to room with my husband(boyfriend at the time). We struggled BAD because we were so young.
