aaannndddd I hate it!
Actually it isn't a new one or a pricey one.My mom bought it 3 days ago ,and it costed about USD100. It is like an archaic one which I could find in my grandma's storehouse ,really. But I admit it quite helps us well (just ignore the appearance, hehe) to sew some ripped pajamas (we always have problems with our pajamas ) .
I am not good at sewing using machine actually, it took me a day to get use to with the machine. I admit my dad is a very fast learner , he only took about 2 hours and he has been able to sew some pajamas (my mom gave up to learn how to sew neatly just like a pro , my dad rocks!). I hate it because every time I fail to sew (I move the machine wrongly) , I have to put the sewing thread into the needle over and over again and it is annoying ..
So do you have a sewing machine? How was your first experience dealing with the new machine?

I can empathize with you, Juliyan. A sewing machine is a valuable tool and can help you be wonderfully creative, but if it's not working correctly, or if it just doesn't suit your personal needs, then it's going to end up just sitting in the corner. I believe that a sewing machine should never be chosen by anyone except the person who's going to use it. Only you will know if it has the features you'll be using most often, only you will know if it "feels right" when you operate it, and only you will know if you and your machine are going to get along for the long haul.
In the mean time, try to persevere, because it was kind of your mother to buy it for you and her intentions were good, right? Get used to it as best you can while stashing some money away to purchase the machine that's the perfect match.

Hello Juliyan!! I remember when I was a girl I began using the sewing machine.
My mother always worked at an office. So I was always home with my nanny. When we had school vacation or holidays, I had to find things to distract myself. So I used my mother´s sewing machine to make some barbie doll skirts, that were pretty easy, I made some kitchen mats, a kitty faced purse, some schoolbags, and pencil bags.
As I grew older I had no more time, while going to college. Then when I was finishing college I took some classes, and I learnt to make some skirts, blouses and trousers.
I worked at an office, then I got married and became a stay-at-home mother, and bought my first sewing machine at sears, for 45 dls. So I made lot of clothes for my babies. I brought mc calls and easy 123 patterns. I´ve made a lot of pijamas, trousers, skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, underwear, and school costumes. And dresses for me, as we live frugal. Some underwear to my hubbie.
I sew no more because I had no more time, since life goes really faster. I opened an eshop, and kids are not so easy now to wear what I sew . So I don´t like to waste time, money and effort in something the may not like. And now I buy some nice and cheap dresses at the flea market.
But I still use it to repare our clothes!
Blessings juliyan... dainy

Hi juliyan! I've learned how to sew using the manual sewing machine when I was 10 years old. I love to sew different clothes for my doll. When I was seventeen years old I also learned how to use the high speed sewing machine. I also worked in a bag manufacturing company for several months.
Even nowadays, I would still do some stuff like pillow cases, curtains seat covers and other things during my free time. I hope you continue to learn and I hope you enjoy it this time.
