broken battery for my HP

My Hp laptop which is about 3 years old has got a battery which is starting to run flat in just about 40 minuttes. My question is - Is it affordable to by a new battery or will you recoment to look for a new laptop. Is seems that everything else i running fine but the battery is done and my laptop is not very portable at the moment. What to do??

Battery normally lose its capacity to charge after period of time. The best way to take care of your battery is to fully charge it and fully discharge it. Battery is cheaper than buying a new laptop. However, some laptop has internal battery and only a service agent can replace. That might be expensive as you need to pay for the service charge.
