Start training for my new job tomorrow!

Tomorrow will be my first day of training for the new job I got last week. I have school in the morning and then job training from 5-9. I'm pretty excited to start because I just have such a good feeling about this new job. A lady from my old job also got hired and she's doing the training the same time I am so I'm happy I'll know at least one person at my new job. I also have another day of training on Wednesday but I'm going in the morning from 1-9. After that, I think my training is pretty much done and I volunteered myself to help out this weekend when the store gets it's shipment of stock. I volunteered the whole weekend because I wanted to show the manager who hired me that I really am serious about the job even though I'll hardly be working when my boyfriend comes down from the army. She did an extremely nice thing by hiring me and knowing I can't even work the grand opening of the store. So to sort of repay her in a way, I'll be helping out with the shipment this weekend. I'm just really excited to start and also to meet some of my new co-workers.

Yeah, I volunteered because I really appreciate what she's going to do for me. I figured that she did so much to help me out, the least I could do was come in and help out this weekend.

Thanks! I'm usually very shy at first too. AT my other job I was pretty quiet until I got to know everyone and made friends. Today I'm glad that I'll know at least one other person at the job training.

Hope that the training went well! It's great that you'd already know somebody. Maybe you could share 'horror' stories from working at VS. And it's great that you've volunteered for the weekend. I hope you've got all your school work done though!

That is a good attitude in starting on a new job. Your enthusiasm will help you enjoy the job instead of just be like a robot doing things around the store and just wait for the salary to come. Congratulations!

First of all, congratulations on the new job. With your school, it seems you're going to be one busy lady. That's really admirable, going to school and working at the same time. I always habe this admiration for people who can juggle both lives and still have fun once in a while. I like your attitude about your new; you clearly show the initiative and I hope your manager sees that. Good luck!

Thank you :) In a way, I sort of take pride in having a job and doing well in school. It proves to myself that I can have a job and make money and still get my schoolwork done and do well. Now that my boyfriend is away in the military I try to busy myself so I don't have much time to sit around and be sad. Having a job is a lifesaver and I'm glad I have one, especially with a boss who is so understanding of the situation I'm in with my boyfriend being in the army. She hired me even after I told her he was coming the day before the store's grand opening. She said it's not a problem at all and that she wants me to spend as much time as possible with him and she'll only schedule me once the entire time he's here. Her positive attitude makes me feel positive as well and I can tell that I'll have a good time at this new job.
