I have seen most of the mylotters(generally new) put the response in one sentence or in one line not only my discussions but on others discussions also . But I comment back to them in more line or in more sentences. Not respond like okkk and thanks for response. I explain their response and ask why you write the small response. I think they feel lazy for responding or their keyboards is not working properly.
But I want to say those all mylotters you are not paying the money for writing but you are earning for writing so read the discussions and puts proper response dont like laziness. I love all mylotters so dont take this sentence in wrong way.

As I said before, I write longer responses because I get misunderstood. If I write more somewhere the misunderstanding would be corrected. But a short sentence may convey something that I didnt mean. And if I dont go back to check how the person took it, it can create a permanent animosity for nothing. I do eat away words and my thoughts do stray effectively making me lazy to complete the previous thought in a way.

Vandana - You say - "I write longer responses because I get misunderstood".
I think what is the guarantee that you won't be misunderstood even if you write longer responses.

HI surek,
I think they just want to post and earn some .. there aim to just post without any meaning ... there aim just increase posts as possible.I see your posts, its really valuable and meaning full.
You describe every thing clearly in your response or comments.

Thanks to say my discussions is clear. I was also thinking like you they want to earn only type without meaning and increasing the posts. Therefore I put my good comment on it and then feel next time they respond me very well. Welcome in mylot my new friend.

I have received a one-sentence response before. I replied back and wrote three or more sentences. I guess they have to elaborate their answers more so that they will be meaningful to the readers. Thanks for sharing. Happy mylotting.

ok i get it...
is that fine with you if you get an answer like that?
i have seen people who does that. weird thing is there are also people who do "???"
as their response...
they seem not having the right mood to be in here. and maybe if some do respond in one liner post, they want to be there but just can't stay that long cause they have lots of things to do... which is really happening at times.
we can't force people to post more if they don't have the mood to do so.
but i guess, it is more exciting and keeps the conversation lively if we all participate in all time we have. it doesn't need to be too long lines. but just take time to respond accurately. not just, "yeah, i have done that" and that's it!

I am laughing after reading your comment because not understand single word. Thanks to join my discussion.

sureka, you are right, we don't get any benefits with this kind of single line and meaningless replies. we must read out the topic fully and place our reply based on our thoughts and attitudes, Some persons have the ability to convert the 1 line statement as a great article with their writing skills.

Yes,the newcomers and even some of the ones that have been around for a while need to realize that the longer the response and the more detail you put in the response the more money you earn.
There are some people on myLot that I also see misspell a lot,(which I am guilty of were only human)and do not use capital letters as needed or punctuation. That also goes against the writers pay amount.Sometimes these errors are made by our device.Sometimes I have to write on my Kindle and the keys are small and I do make type o's.As well my laptop is very old and has issues that cause me to make mistakes or take me longer to write. I actually need a new laptop.....maybe someday.

Hi sureka
I think you are right that while responding to a discussion mylotters should at least contribute few lines. There is no point answering in only one line. It shows the lack of interest in the discussion and may be (in your words) the lazy attitude. And moreover, we are paid for writing.
I try my best to write something interesting, when I decide to respond to a post so that the host could value my response worthy of reading and commenting.
This discussion figures in mylot digest dated 19.9.2012

hi surekharahti I never use one line posts instead I try to be as descriptive as I can and make my post understandable to
everyone. I also try my best to always make good comments back not just a thanks but a real comment to show I have read the responses.I do not like to respond to someone who only coments back thanks for response as thats not a comment at all.

Yes I also want this dadi ma not many line or in one line but at least in good manner and understandable manner like you. One persons here responding me on my discussion about increasing weight "exercise and less eating" this is silly comment. I always feel your comment is good.

I think their is nothing wrong with replying with one line as long as the idea or the message being reply is understandable. We really don't need to create such long sentences or paragraph just to comment a discussion. And also mylot does not prohibit it, so i think their is nothing to worry.

Yes friend mylot pays us money to make our most as descriptive as possible but most of the members only write one line response or comments (mostly newbie's) .so friend it is really hard to convert them in three or four lines but i do my best And i really hate those who never comment on any respond on discussion after create a discussion .such type of discussion is not a discussion and some people only says " thank you for response ".i think we have to make our post more and more descriptive so that we are able to earn more and also we can make a discussion really good .
@surekharathi (14146)

I not hate those persons because they are newbie and they need our help so we should explain everything and I doing my good job comment in more line and say next time take care dont write short comment. I never says only this four words but say more than these four words. Yes descriptive response is good while reading but some old mylotter understand this and new are learning from us.

Actually, one's response depends on the way the discussion is being talked about. Sometimes, it even goes beyond what is being talked about, because some related things comes into the talk.
Thus, that way, the exchange of comments elongates.

it's interisting to convert one line response into more line comments, but for me it depends on dicussion topic and response I received. you're right, sure, that many of mylotters that generally newbie would only like short response that sometimes makes me confuse to give more and more response. If I gave more response, usually they didn't response back anymore..

I do interest to response another comment if this possible, surekh. mylot doesn't give us restriction about this, so why not we enjoy each discussion and covert it into wider conversation. of course will be easier if we talk to our close friend here, but need to be remember, everyone is friend here, and everyone could be a good friend

The 'one-line' responses are not just limited to newer members; I've seen them come from people who have very high numbers behind their names too. I'll try to ask them questions, whether it has to do with the original topic or something else. I think that giving a one-line responses is the sign of one of two options: 1) you really don't feel that you could add anything else to the discussion and want to end it or 2) you don't have much to say about the topic. The former is just rude-why don't you want to continue the discussion? And the later is more laziness-you don't want to interact with the original poster and too scared to admit that you don't understand something.

Your words are loud and clear. I am one of those who give short responses. Much as I wanted to write longer but this Samsung galaxy that am using is giving me lots of problem. Am still unfamiliar with its features. Have yet to get a table top computer as my old one is left behind in my former house.

Sometimes they dont have much to say so they just say the little they have . I normally appreciate whatever anyone have to say , I dont mind . Also as you mention they may just be feeling lazy and new to the site and dont want to say too much .
My account become active about 2/3 months ago and when I started I didnt have much to say but I then get used to the site . I am still sometimes lazy and some discussion dont need a lot of elaboration . Have a good day

Usually when I find a discussion that I am interested in; I get turned off when the writer doesnt take the time to explain their thoughts... But there are a couple that I have found where it was still well written just stort.. My responses are generally longer then the discussion itself.. Hopefully the writter doesnt take it the wrong ways.. I dont like to just type what ever.. There is a process I have and sometimes it takes longer for me to express my full thought.

And so I have noticed, too. Well, maybe others just couldn't say more what they feel about the posted discussion. But then, it sort of annoying to be just seeing a one-liner as response. Now you'll know why they are here, right?
@surekharathi (14146)

I not feel irritated and not want to annoy on them because I know they are new and not interested in responding. But after my comment they put good response in my or on others discussion next time. Nice you also notice this.

To some it might be lazyness although I think a lazy person might not respond at all. Also there are plenty of people who don't have internet at home. If you have to go to a cyber cafe for some time time is running fast. You can't do much in 1 hour if you have to read everything and are not typing blind with 10 fingers.
Also... how much words are needed if you did read the respons and there is nothing to add to it or to ask? There are people who need a lot of lines to respond and others can do it with 10 words.

Ohhh God this idea is not in my mind thanks to share your view. Yes if the persons are using mylot from cafe then how can they put long response. STill I not know the mylotters are used mylot in cafe also. Nice after starting my discussion I got new thing.
