I feel helpless that I still failed after try so many way, such as ask for relatives and friends' experience, learn from book and internet. I will ran out money as long as I have, and I can not confirm how and where spend on. I know accouting can let me change this thing but I am lazy to do it, and there is not every moment can mark the account clearly.

I don't think shopping online can let me save more money, because goods online does look cheaper than the store, but they cost similar after calculate the shipping cost in it. But cancled credit card is worth to think about, it is pity that I have to implement it after pay off my installment debt.

Saving money is a learning process. You just need to try some different ways and see what works for you best. Even if you are living paycheck to paycheck, learning to shop better, and using coupons are some suggestions. I would try getting an account that you only put money into and never spending that money. If you have a bank that will allow you to open an account without having a minimum needed to keep it open except for a penny, I would start with that. It helps to be free of debt collections. Understand that savings need to build for one to see it as an acquired financial reward. Whether you can save a little or a lot, just keep saving and allow time to give you an answer for how efficiently you are doing this. If you find that you can save more, do it and allow your savings to grow. Don't be afraid to see what you can cut back on while allowing yourself to keep more money. Maybe you can limit eating out, credit card use, clothing purchases, energy use and more. Also consider investing with minimal risk. Good Luck.

Thank you for give me such a detailed reference views, I will work together with them to summarize a saving plan that fit me most. My current saving way is give most of my income to mum and she will help save the part out of cost usual. Now, besides return of the monthly installment arrears, i will not take the creadit card with me, and I will cancel it after pay off. I take own lunch every working day, after lunch I wash lunch boxes at company to save water charges, similarly I try my best charging my cell phone in the office to save electricity charges. If mon need, I will go to the market near my home to buy food after work, because their price will turn cheaper than before.

Go ahead and give your mum more money to save for you if she is willing to do that. I don't see any difference in giving it to your mum or putting it in the bank. You are still in charge of how much you want to give each week and she is just holding it for you. The problem is not where you put your saving. It is that you don't take the money out without seriously thinking why you want to. My husband always saved his change. He would buy a cup of coffee for a dollar something. He gave the clerk two dollars and put the change in a can before going to bed and never counted how much was in the can. End of the year he took it to the bank and always had over six hundred dollars. My mom saved dollar bills that had the letter k on it. Every so often she put them in her savings account. Another friend of mine used checks for all her spending. If she spent $3.45, she would put in her check book ledger $4. Her balancing her checkbook was never right but she was never overdrawn either. For me to save, I leave my checkbook at home and only take a limited amount of cash with me. I hope this helps, good luck. Also, you are not a failure. As long as you keep trying, you are already a winner.

Till now my failure most for I cannot insist to the last. Everytime when I save to a period, I cannot hold on. So the best way is let mon save most part of my money at present. I also have habit for saving the cahnge after each spend money, just I cannot insist don't use them unti put them into my bank acount. I think I must change this thing, or else I can't save more money.

Do you have a bank account? If you open a forced savings account you can put money in, but not take it out. At the end of the savings period, usually a year, you get the money plus any interest you have earned. You can then take that money and put it in another savings account or you can invest it.

If banking were that much of a problem here I don't know what I would do! It would be very inconvenient and I would probably be very frustrated. At least you have your mom who you can trust to help you.

In the place I live, go to bank for business is a very waster time, the bank always did not open enought number business window for client, I feel angry with this. So I will put the money in mum's hand, I don't take it to the bank for savings projects until comes to a certain number, such as regular savings, its interest will be a little bigger than the current savings.

Saving money is one of the most difficult things to do because money is always a problem for many people.
Are you working? Do you expect money every payday? If yes, you can do basic tally of what you spend for the whole month versus the money you have or you will receive as your salary. If in your tally some pennies should be left, then you must make it happen. No matter how much it is, you should keep it aside. Keep it in a jar, or in the bank or ask your mom to save it for you aside from the money you are giving her. I do that tally thingy every payday and it helps me save. Hmmm, I hope this will help you a bit.

I agree with you, so I am doing everything you said above. Mabye the start is a bit late, if I can get early, should reserve a lot of money now. So the only way is insist to all above, no matter how the temptation must exercixe restrain, cannot pamper myself causually squandered.

I am not sure if you can do this through your bank, but if you can, it is a sure fire way to save money. PAY YOURSELF FIRST. Before you pay any bills, go shopping or anything, immediately put some money from your paycheck into your savings account. If you have direct deposit, you can have part of your paycheck automatically put into your savings account before you ever see it. If you never see the money, you can't spend it.

Dear merylinkid and andreas91:
I think so too, so I put most of money into my own bank account since this month, then leave the bank card at home, there only very little money in wallet for use. I believe it can help me to save money, because I not only see money, but also can take it out or cost by card spending because the band card did not carry with me.

I definitely agree with this one. I do this every month by allocating some of my allowances for the month to another saving account. This way I will not accidentally use it and end up saving nothing for the month. However just make sure that you allocate enough to be spent for the month basic needs. you would not want to end up short of cash and have to borrow from others with interests :)

Thank you for identity of mine. I ensure cannot compare with mum on way to handle money, perhpas the rich life experience summed up her own financial method. I hope I also can have my own way to handle money in the future, and she is not necessary to worry about me on this.

It is hard to save money especially in this day and age, but I sometimes manage to save my change and roll it. If you save your coins that quickly add up. Right now I am not working and the only income we have is Randy's Social Security and my financial aid money. I make a little extra online and am hoping to find other sites that pay. I also have a savings account which I have 25.00 taken out of Randy's Social Security and put into this account.

Hi cmy1004f,
You said you've tried many ways to save money and yet fail. I think the reason why you fail is not because of the method you try to save money but because you lack discipline. You must want to save money badly enough to resist the temptation of spending it. Practise delayed gratification and don't give in to impulse. If you managed to develop a strong will power you will succeed in your savings plan. Have a good day.

YOu already said you have tried everything and yet failed. So i guess it's time to start trying. There are people who are just like that. They try to reach their goal and yet they fail because they try too hard. The moment they stop and let things go as it is, they soon realize that they are slowly reaching their goal.
So maybe this time you should just stop.

just learn to identify your wants from needs, and important to not so important.
Giving some amount to your mom that is good at least somehow you can save. Just do it generously.

Even if she need to use the money sometime I will not interfere, after all, I cannot sure had been cost how much of her squander before.

It is pretty hard to stop spending less if you have picked up the habit of spending over the years. The best way to save money is not buying unnecessary things that you usually buy from out of curiosity. Try to make meal at home and eat less out. Stay away from your credit cards unless it is very urgent. save some money every week in your savings account.

You like to a coin bank if you have money first save like a 1/4 of it and it should be just putting in not putting and taking in also...You know being thrifty is one should know to prevent impulsive buying and we should just buy what we need and not what we want.

I am trying to save money at the moment as well, and there are a lot of things that you can do to try and make this a reality for you. One of the things that you should do is take a look at the amount of food that you're buying. If you buy cheaper foods you could save quite a large amount of money each week that you might not have expected. I managed to save £20 per week in my family when I changed the things that we were buying in the shops. I have also started to shop at charity shops, as I don't think that there is anything wrong with owning something that somebody else has owned in the past. I also keep an eye on the amount of electricity that I use as well. For example in the past I would have had the television on for the whole of the day, but now I will only have it on if I am watching something, and I will just turn it off if there is nothing on. If you get into the habit of turning lights off when you leave the room you will find that you can save a fair amount this way as well.

hi there cmy1004f,
with reference to your post, in reality, it is really difficult to save money. most of the time, the more we try to save, the more our money was being exhausted. as a result, we cannot able to start our savings then. in this regard, perhaps, try to start your savings by doing it initially to the coins you get from your purchases. i mean, save money by saving some of your change today. with that move, you can easily and initially do your savings. just give it a try, who knows, that after a couple of weeks, you already have your coin savings bank.

buy a piggybank^^ if you put your money in there then you cant use it^^ unless you break it in pieces. that way you can save it. all monthes try to put 50 dollars in there. 50 dollars is better than nothing. if you put 50 dollars there all monthes after a few time you will have some good money there. if put in a bank account isnt clear you can put in a piggybank^^ just try. you know the more money you have in your pockets the bigger will be the temptation to use it. if you let it stay in a safe place then the temptation wont be so big anymore. wish you the best

Well i can understand your inability to save money for the future but this is human nature and one cannot avoid it. there are many people on earth like u who complain about not being able to save just because they find it difficult and this is normal and there are some who save money from the security point of view. Just like u even i am good at spending money but i am trying to change this habit by saving some money. Whenever i have money in my hand, without spending a single second i save some amount first and then with the rest amount, i spend it my way. u try this.
What say?

What you said is quite right, so we must restrain our impulse to spend money. Prior to then, I always buy things which I like immediately, the result is I bought a pile of thing which useless and waste space. Now, even if I see something very nice, I will think carefully it is useful or not before take it to the checkout counter. So maybe can help me save some money finally.
