Hello vimalpatel,
I myself find most of my online freelance work through oDesk - and I have been happy about it and paid every time.
There are several other freelancing websites out there, freelancer, guru and elance just to mention a few. So far I must admit I prefeer oDesk oppoesed to the others.

Yes I am very happy, ofcause it is not always easy to get jobs, but when you do a good job the employers often return back to you - thus I have several running contracts on working when they need it :)

I am a contractor/agency owner working for a project at Odesk. Yes there are job opportunities on that website for everyone. It's a best place to start your online job or home based job but be careful since there are a lot of clients who really pays low and sometimes they don't pay at all. Best lowest bidder will get the job but there are clients whose really after for the quality of your work especially if they find you are worth to keep. When I was newbie, I was invited by a friend to join since they have referral program but eventually they replaced the referral program into something better. The competition is very stiff in terms of winning the projects. Most clients all over the world looks for an employee/contractor who will offer them the lowest hourly rate to the point that you're almost giving your service for free and this is on top of quality work that you need to provide but that's fine during your early stage, since you have to establish your reputation as a competent contractor and earn quality feedback score and message.
You can also try elance and freelancer.com

Yes. If you have a good reputation for work ethics, skills, availability, etc., most probably future clients will hire you. If you land on your first project make sure you do your best, you behave accordingly, you follow the instructions, you give your client what he asked for the job and as a reward you'll get paid and will earn a decent stars for you feedback. If you cannot do this, Odesk is not a good place for you.

This is a good site for you hence you are a programmer , it is easy for you to understand things , and there are many programming work there. Try Elance .com also they are similar with Odesk.
