Who do you worship, God or the leaders of your churches?

This question came to my mind because I believe a lot of worshipers go to church depending on who will be the pastors or priest celebrating the church service. When they see that the pastor or priest is not to their liking, they leave the church as if it is a movie theatre. The worst thing is that they even leave the church if they see other church members that they don't like or they think are not good people or Christians or whatever. So it comes to my mind that many people go to church looking to worship people and when they find they are disappointed, they leave the church and conclude this church is not good and not worth going to. What is your opinion of this? Who do you worship, God or church leaders?

I am a believer myself and I don't go to church basing on the preacher or the priest. I go to church to worship God and not the preacher. My mother taught me so well about the Catholic religion and I believe that God is the main reason of everything.

I say Amen to that, galileo! Well I believe that God should be number 1 in everyone's hearts. So I think that when people starts going to their churches, they should try to focus on God and the sermons of that day and avoid the tendency to judge any people inside that church, whether it be the priest, the choir members and their singing, the servants of the church and any church members in that case. Anyway, all of us will be facing God's judgement seat someday anyway :D

I worship God more. But it was said in the bible that we have an obligation to fulfill and that's to come to church every sunday to hear mass. It is a sin if you do not go to mass on Sundays. It's the sermon I am there for, I don't really look at the leaders of the churches as Gods. Because they are just humans and they are imperfect, they are just here to guide us.

Yes, I believe it's important to give God at least one time a week service in our church. Anyway, what I mean by worshiping the priests is just symbolical and does not necessarily mean they become our gods but I mean our focus which is suppose to be on God in our church service is focused instead on the leaders and the people in the church, and they become like 'gods' because we focus more on them sometimes than on the prayers we do in our church. I also believe in the importance of at least going to church once a week, and I think in most churches it is a sin to miss a single one of them. Correct me if I'm wrong here.

I think those people worship GOD of course. If the reason on why they left the services is the pastor or the fellow worshiper then it is the indication that they cannot be enriched spiritually because of the physical things that affect their services. If they are not comfortable listening to a certain pastor o priest or if they dislikes some members within the services, they are being defeated with wordly things. . Have a nice day!!!

Yes, I think you're right that many people are distracted with a lot of worldly things. I believe the churches are also not spared by intrigues, so it is no wonder people in the church are not necessarily people with good relationships with each other. I may say it must probably be just a matter of where the church goers give their focus. Are their focus in the church service or in the priest or the people around them? If they focus mostly on serving God by following the church service prayers, then I believe they are in the right spirit.
