Some of us would always put a little value on things that we presently have.
I have a new found friend wherein he was given a task to take care of some matters in the office. During the first days, he was so hard working and was able to finish everything in time. However, lately, I noticed that he seems to be not interested in his job anymore. He makes so many absences and does not work anymore regularly on the job given to him.
I asked him what seems to be the problem. He said he had so many problems. So I told him that we all have problem and we should not make those problems to be the reason for not performing in our job well. Our job is our main source of income and we should always love it and make sure that we perform well because we will have more problems if we lost our job. I hope he listened to my advice. I told him that we should not wait for anything to be lost before we realized its importance.
As of now, he was assigned to other work areas and I could not see him anymore.
How about you my dear myLotters, how do you give importance to your job?

You will find very few persons who take interest in their jobs even after being old in their posts. Most of us start neglecting.Their interest gets lost.I know many persons who were very enthusiastic when they joined a particular job,but gradually they lose interest in it.I think, this happens due to monotony. The monotony of dong the same things everyday is sucking.Perhaps that's the reason why they lose interest. So far as I am concerned,I still try to take interest in my job and learn new things about it.But sometimes I fail and get bored and sometimes I feel excited doing it.

Hi friend! showing importance is also aiming for excellence. We should not be contented on our present performance, thus we should always aim for the better.
This is applicalbe with any kind that we have, be it online or offline.

i always tell my boss, that taking a leave from work is one that i do not want to do, or the last thing that i will think of. i give priority to my family. but work is something, i also consider my top priorities. responsibilities on my shoulder, being an employee of this office shares the same level as head of the family.

Hi neil! It only shows that you are a dedicated employee. The benefits that we gained from our work should really be given an equal amount of service.

My job is very important to me! I have to work to live! If I don't work i don't get paid! Then my bills don't get paid! At my job there has been some stress because the college has a new president. We were hoping he would not get rid of all of us and bring in a company to do all the cooking in food service like alot of colleges have done! That is not happening! We are cutting waste but going trayless! We have been doing that just a few weeks and we are seeing a difference in less wasted food! I love my job because I am able to do most things in the kitchen. From doing dishes,to prepping to cooking. I also meet people from around the world and the US! I love that part, too! So my job is very important!

Aries, when i was still working, i always make sure that i had completed my daily important works before i left my company. I think it is our responsibility to handle our work well when we are given a work to do. We should never wait until our boss nagging to us, then only we start to do our work. Since now i am full-time mom, i make sure that i complete my daily household works before i start to go online. At least, i don't have worries when i go online about my house matters.

Yes i value my job coz this is my bread and butter. And we have occur problem sometimes but i make sure to separate from work and personal.
But there are times problem comes from the office like the co-worker or even the bosses, but that is normal just learn to value the importance of our work.
Maybe your friend need some councelling in order for him to set the priority and the personal and work.
Just include him in your prayer that hope he will be ok soon.

Hi igatiful! Yes I talk to him about it and hopefully, he would listen to me. There are just times that we should have to evaluate our actions to see if we are still on the right track or not. Having friends could also help in situations like this.
Thank you for sharing!

My colleagues and I always sacrifice for our jobs.Even if we're sick we come to work.If they see that we really are sick, that's the time when they let us go home.If there is a typhoon which is very strong and all classes in school levels are suspended and most offices cancel their works,we still go to work. It's very risky but the heads aren't considering that we could get killed in just a matter of second. We don't receive all the possible benefits which we could get.Yet, we're still solid there. :)

Hi Aries! I do experience such thing as your new friend does. Yes, problems at home are irresistible that I could not leave it from there every time I go to work. It was so difficult to perform my tasks at work. Such imbalance results to ineffectiveness and inefficiency. So, I actually decided to quit because I feel so ashamed of the company I am connected with. I have not yet reached my first year anniversary here but it seemed too hard already for me to render a fair performance because of my home issues. Unlike when I have no family yet, I rendered service that was so extraordinary that I used to get promoted. I had worked consistently well then. Actually, I had spent eleven years with the company I got connected with when I had no family yet. I do give importance to my work that is why this time I have to quit because I cannot afford to stay being paid while rendering a non-satisfactory performance. I have no choice.

You are a good person kesh! It's also a good decision. When we are not anymore rendering an effective service to our company, it is better to resign. Anyway, I think you can also do some online jobs and have enough time for your family.

When I was still working , I was really working my butt off everytime. I work overtime, even without pay, I work even on weekends. I feel I always need to give my 101% in the jobs that I was in. I do not like people talking behind my back and say that I do not work well. I always make it a point to do the best I can no matter what it takes. And yes, you are right. It is our main source of income and so we must learn to love our jobs.

Hi jenny! Your love for your work can really be shown on how you give importance to it. I'm sure the company where you used to worked with felt bad when you leave because they have lost one good worker.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi friend, you are right, you really gave a good advice to him, each and every one is having our own personal problems, but we must forget about them while working and giving our utter most to the job which is helping us to make money. Hope he changed his activity after your advice and do his work good in the new place

That's why I always tried to find a job that I knew that I would want to enjoy every day. If you've been at a job for a while, it becomes routine and one may become bored. When you're job becomes routine one must do extra on the job and not be bored. Also, I learned to keep my life at home seperate from work and vice versa.

I think people should leave their problems outside the door once they come in to their work. I know it can be difficult especially if our problem is a big one. But we have to realize that our job isn't just a job. It's our livelihood, our career, our bread and butter. While it is entirely impossible to just shut down our mind from thinking about our troubles while at work, we can strike a balance.

I really WANT to love my job. I used to love my job. The problem is that I work in a tiny office of 4 employees and in the past 4 months or so, my boss has totally played the "I'm the boss so I can, but you can't so don't even ask" card. I had an evaluation a couple weeks ago and he offered me a promotion and a substantial raise but I've been giving it some thought instead of just jumping at it. I was told that I "know my job too well and it's a distraction to others"... I don't even know what that means! Am I not supposed to know my job like the back of my hand?! I'm not sure but it could be that I challenge what he says and he refuses to show me the employee manual that he hides (it's supposed to be available for all employees to access) because he thinks I should follow him blindly even if he's wrong. Maybe I'm wrong for picking apart all the things I've grown to dislike about my job. The other day, my mom asked me if I REALLY hated it or if I was just upset. So I sat and thought about it, and I can honestly say all I like is knowing that I can pay my bills (which is why I stay) and that I have good health insurance.
I envy those of you who really like your job!

Hi amy! We have a choice, to look for another job or to stay with our present job.. But we should make sure that whatever decision we make, we should be able to stand for it. We should also keep in mind that you might have a not so good job as of now for some reasons, what make us think that we will find a better one?
Do you think on your next job you will already like the people around? We should always think of the circumstances when making bog decisions.
Have a nice day!

You are absolutely right..Job is the most important in life coz it was the main source of income. Your colleague was very lucky having you and I really admire your care to him;) For me, Having a job is like having a precious stone to be care of. My job is essential to me aside from my main source of income, it was also the way I socialize myself to different people and gain experience to different field of work. I also love my job due to I learned something different and I enjoy it. My Job taught me to multi-task being flexible and being responsible.
