In India Gas price is hiking more and Govt. is applying some conditions they are saying for one year only 6 cylinder is allowed for one family and if wants more then pay double amount. I think no single family is possible to make the meals till 1 year in six cylinder. Everyone needs at least 12 in a year and per month 1.
Last time when I was traveling in train everyone talking about induction cooker like Electric Gas and its speed also fast than Gas. Do you know about this cooker you are using it. It is good for saving the gas share your valuable views. Because I also want to purchase it but understand my idea is good or not.

Hi surekha,
I think you have to buy that one because its good when you don't have gas in any emergency, no need pay more money about it so I think all have to this type cooker for emergency or little one regular use also.
But you can get still many cylinder as you want, there is no limit to buy cylinder and price did not hike, there is only now you can get only 6 subsidised cylinder in a year, after that you have to pay full money for every cylinder.

Gradually fossil fuel like gas is getting scarce where induction cooker is the best alternative to gas. Dependency on gas should be reduced. Gas can be kept in case of electricity is off. I have gas and its price is hiking because vehicles are being turned into gas driven. Gas is a powerful fuel which we should use in high tech industry instead for domestic purpose. I hardly switch on gas to make some tea or light breakfast. I told my housewife not to use it for any lame excuse.

Yes I also think same like you induction cooker is the best alternative of gas. Yes some people use Gas for driving the car. They not use petrol of diseas but use Gas. I have also Gas but wants to purchase induction cooker also. Not its price will also hike because the Gas price is hiking.

Induction stove can be a good alternate to Gas Stove. But the Induction stove (Hot plate) cannot sense all the metals. It doesn't sense Indalium metals, particularly the 'Pressure Cooker'. Stainless steel is ok.
But here in my state, electricity charges also have been hiked. So there is literally no difference in cost between the Gas stove and induction stove. (In fact, I have to buy separate vessels for induction stove. So, I just postponed buying it.)

Wow! nice response but I heard no much electricity spend for induction stove. I want to purchase because after some time its price will also hike.

In my assumption, both will be equal. The electricity consumption charges and the Gas cost would be more or less same, besides the technical problems in Induction plate would be on higher side. (We can get Gas stove serviced nearby, whereas we need to find a good service point for Induction plates.)
I would rather buy Gas saver devices (there are few good devices available) which will save up to 40%. (40% is really good, but I'll be satisfied even if it saves 25%.)

Yes, The question is "How much power induction cooker consumes?" I am using induction cooker for about 3 years. Every time I look for specifications. I never get a good estimation of it.

Hi,
Its all the same if you count the cost of electricity, that is, unless your electric rate is very low. I heard induction stove uses the same wattage as hot plate electrics, about 1k watts at minimum. I'd rather go for solar or the one that uses coals powered with a 12 volt DC, 600mA blower.

Yes I know Gas is good but now problem will arise when only 6 cylinder in one year so this cooker will help me. I want to know how it is the experience of people who are using this induction cooker. Thanks to share the view.

Based on my research induction cooker is faster and more energy-efficient than a traditional electric cooker surface. Because it allows instant control of cooking energy similar to gas burners. It is also safe to use because it only heat the pot, there is no flame, so there is no possibility to burn.

Hi sur!
We have not used induction cooker, yet I think it is a good option. Needless to say that electricity cost in using the induction cooker will have to be taken into account. It could be used along with Gas stove and that may balance the cost and convenience.

Government can reduce the price and demand is more but the supply is less.
People could say anything about politicians.

Yes this is good to balance the cost and to save the GAs also. Its speed is more than Gas. But why Govt doing this. In train one man was saying me if politicians leave their whole money for Indian people then our India will the richest country. They have too much money.

Surekha, in my home i am using induction cooker whenever we are running out of gas. But the only problem is, it only able to detect certain types of metals. That's why, we still maintain using gas and only use this cooker on certain time. For my family, we will need around 3 cylinders of gas per month. It is really hard to survive only using a cylinder gas for 2 months. It is really pity to those who have to pay double the amount of gas in your area.

Yes you are right sis induction cooker accept only metals pots. Ohhh God 3 cylinders per month thank God you are not residing in India. I also think if the family is big then how they maintain in 6 cylinder whole year.

Hello Surekha, first thing Government will give some relief. In all states where congrss are ruling party decide to give 9 cyclinder per year. I also listen and read about induction cooker. I am also planning to buy it. I thinnk it best alternate of cooking gas. But power is also problem.

But sir I not understand why Govt is running behind only Gas they knows no single family can live without Gas so they are increasing the price of Gas only. You are right Govt. is give some relief to give the permission for 9 cylinder. Yes this is best alternate of cooking gas.

Surekha
This is all politics, increase the price, put restrictions, there will be demonstrations, bandhs, TODAY IS BHARAT BANDDH!!!!, There will be burning of buses, cancellation of trains, market, school college bank all are closed, and you might be aware that it is 10 cylinders now
You can use induction cooker, but you have to buy stainless steel pressuse cookers, vesselsthat can work with it..
Well here one unit of electricity costs 5.15, so it is equally costly...

Induction cooker is the best option to use. Well this is very strange and terrible decision taken by the government. I think it is better to buy an induction cooker on each homes because it saves our bills a lot. I feel it brings us a less loaded bill, sometimes it may be the reason I just use it only at some occasions.

Yes this is very wrong decisions taken by Govt. why Govt. not think about the poor or middle class people they are gaining lots of money only for their own and price hiking effects on us. I also heard its not takes more electricity you are right everyone should purchase at least one cooker.

Yes induction cooker can make the meal very fast and more cheaper than gas,but there are some limited on it such as it can not fit for some kinds of metal,so in my mind you can have both induction cooker and the gas one and in this way you can save your gas quota.

Yes its speed is fast so most of the people like this. But we cannot use general still pots but it needs special metal pots. Yes both are necessary in every home.

Have you heard of charcoal stove? I would rather have a charcoal stove. If you want to save a lot of money this is a good alternative for gas range and induction cooker.Induction cooker runs through electricity while gas stove functions by using gas.So what's the difference? Here in my country, the price of electricity has skyrocketed and gas also cost an arm and a leg. A pack of charcoal only cost 250 php which is more or less than 5 USD compared to the price of gas which is not less than 900 php that is equivalent to 22 USD.

No I not heard about this tell me please this may be available in India. Difference in between these two Gas and induction cooker is speed and cost both. Cooker speed is more than Gas and this is alternative of Gas.

Well an induction cooker is just merely a waste if we don't have electricity to use it Most of the time I see that we don't have power supply at some occasions. So at such situations I cannot depend on it.

I also am thinking of using induction cooker. I am quite attracted with it because it looks so tidy and easy to maintain. It also looks safe because there is no open flame at all while cooking It is said to be energy efficient because it cooks faster than the traditional way of cooking.
But because it uses electromagnetism to cook, it can't do with all all types of cookware. Your cookware must be made of ferrous or iron so this means your aluminum, copper, and glass cookware will not be compatible with induction cooker. I consider this as a major disadvantage of induction cooker. Where will all my aluminum, copper and glass cookwares go when I switch to induction cooker then? Shall I just junk, sell or give them away. My glass cookwares were bought at a high price so it would be a waste if I can't use them anymore for cooking.

Yes you are right easy for use and no current even child also touch it and it is faster than regular Gas. Ohh yes this cooker not support general pots.
