I was never really in to reality shows. I figured my everyday life was reality enough for me!Some people are hooked on reality shows and can't miss one episode of them. When American Idol first came out, I liked to watch it, but not every episode. Are you myloters addicted to reality shows? If so, which ones and why? This inquiry mind would like to know!

No I HATE almost every one of them. That's all you see on TV today, reality TV. Almost every channel has at least five or more reality shows airing on their network. True there are a few I like to watch like "Dirty Jobs" & "The World's Worse Tenants", but that's pretty much it. I miss TV the way it used to be, when there were actual TV programs on whether it was a good comedy or drama. I seriously think that they should stop airing so many reality shows on TV simply because not every one is into that kind of entertainment!!

Oh, I agree with you liviaslife! I remember true reality shows like the Waltons and such. Now days what they call reality shows aren't real life situations, they way I think of them as.

Oh wow I grew up watching the Waltons. My Mom & I used to watch that all the time. Your so right, they just don't make good TV like that anymore....(sigh)

There is only one reality show that I watch and it is pretty embarrassing. I haven't told anyone that I watch this show but I guess it is OK to share with MyLot. I have been watching Jersey Shore since the first season! I know the show is garbage but it is so bad that it is good! I just find all the fake drama on the show entertaining for some reason. This next Jersey Shore season is going to be the last for the series so I will be forced to stop watching this dreaded show!

Yeah, that's why I don't watch any of the reality shows because they're all fake drama. I have enough drama in my own life, don't need to watch anybody else's and they're even getting paid!!

I saw the Real World back in 1992. I saw some years after that but then I stopped. what I like to see these days is So You Think You Can dance, The Real Housewives NJ and OC and some of the Bachelor and Bachelorette. Save So You Think , the other shows are like soaps. You like a character and you wonder what will happen next.

No, most reality shows are very unreal. I like shows like The Doctors, and I used to like Dr. Phil, until he started following families and became a lot like a reality show. Mostly I do not watch television anyway.

I watch The Amazing Race more to see where they are traveling, then the people on the show. Its fun to see how people manage to survive in other countries when Americans have so much food and a roof over our heads. People on the show have to figure out how to survive in some harsh climates. Keep in mind I'm in Southern California where you can live outside most of the year and not be cold, so its a bigger challenge when somebody is on from my area.

I can't say I am "into" them, but there are some I like to watch, such as Hell's Kitchen and Project Runway. I watched some others when they first began and then I either got busy or wasn't home or found something else to watch.

I regiously watch Survivor and Amazing Race. There are a few others I enjoy as well, but only because there is not much else to watch. I watch Dance Moms, Hoarders, and Intervention, and occasionally Toddlers and Tiars because I can't believe what those moms do to their children, and Bridezillas because it is hilarioous.

I sometimes do watch these reality shows but I don't think that they really are acting "normal" 100%. What I think is they show the audience only the things that they think will be appreciated or would increase curiosity amongst the audience.

Good for you, I'm pretty sure some of these reality shows are scripted and I have plenty of reasons to prove it really is. Just saying though, happy mylotting!

The closest I could come is to watch Dancing with the Stars...otherwise no. I don't watch alot of reality tv. I have never watched Big Brother...Survivor.....things like that. I watch American Idol once in a while....America's got talent...once in a while......otherwise I don't really watch alot of tv.

very much so but only 2 do i follow faithfully and thats Big brother and Survivor. those are both so exciting trying to figure who will win and to what length and extreme they will go to to get others voted off.

I never could figure out the fascination with shows like American Idol. I cannot bear to watch them. I just don't have the patience to sit through all the blathering. But I admit it, I do have two guilty pleasures as far as reality shows go -- Ice Road Truckers and The Deadliest Catch. Why? I don't know. Maybe because they are no celebrities (well...other than what the show has made them). Real people doing real jobs -- jobs that I will never do nor necessarily want to do, but nonetheless, fascinate me.

Yes, I am a big fan of Survivor and the Amazing Race and the Real Housewives of Miami & Real Housewives of Orange County as well. For me, they're fun to watch and yes, they depict real people and real outbursts, real feelings and real stories (err, most of the times).
